A lot of the negative reviews are about the peeling finish on the oil rubbed bronze hardware. I agree, when it gets to that point, it looks awful. But rest assured it gets better. Hit it with some steel wool to accelerate the process. You’ll want to rub away all that dull peeling crap. I now have a beautiful patina on my door handle. A golden bronze on the most warn parts. Copperish hues on frequently touched places, and darker tints elsewhere. Schlage should really skip the crappy topcoat.

A company that does not stand behind a product they sell? It's not going to work in the long run - someone smart said it.... I paid over $200 for this set at home depot. Wasted my time an money. I don't think that me going back and dealing with the manufacturer is the right recourse in this case. I would expect HD to handle issues with the product they sold me. For example my money back, or the replacement. Well, my loss, I guess. See the pictures of the JUNK they sold me. I warned you.

After two years finish it’s almost gone! This is ridiculous, lucky called schlage and they did send me a new one but that probably be good for next two years

We bought the door handle approximately 4 years ago. It was put on the front door that has a porch so its not in direct elements. After year two it started to wear away the finish by year 4 it looks like picture attached. Now I am in the market to buy another set . I would not recommend at all $150+ tax (approximate)

We purchased our door set in April 2018. We liked it very much and actually planned to replace all of our interior door handles to match the color of our front door handle. Then just this week we had a rainstorm at night that lasted several hours. The next morning, I went outside, and my exterior door handle looked like this: (see attached interior and exterior photos). I am shocked in the lack of quality for this door and don't understand why a plastic like layer is even present on a metal door handle. It should not have only lasted a little over a year with normal wear and tear, and this literally happened overnight. Unacceptable & disappointing.

Purchased the aged bronze set for my front door back in the summer of 2019. Fast forward 8 months later and the finish is coming off in pieces. Since its aged bronze I expected the finish to change colors (which I was hoping for), but not chunks to peel off. Schlage specifically says their aged bronze items don't have a clear coat on them. Well hmmm what clear plastic type pieces are peeling off of my door handle?

Upgraded from your typical cheap deadbolt and a knob to this elegant handle and deadbolt. Very heavy duty and smooth operation. Extremely happy with this purchase.

Easy to install. All hardware provided. I loved the adjustability on the lower part of the exterior handle. I was able to move it to accommodate the hole already in my front door. I didn't have to drill a new one. Just need some touch up paint and it is done!

I love the richness of this product. It pairs perfectly with our new Mahogany front door!

Installation was fairly easy. I was replacing a similar Schlage handleset that was decades old. While this handleset has about an inch of play for the bottom bolt, that wasn't enough to match up with the old Schlage (it's taller). So I had to drill a new hole and plug the old one, which is less than optimal.

HORRIBLE NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE I have had this set installed at my home since 2011 the finish began to deteriorate in early 2016, pitting and clear coat peeling. Actually, ignored the finish issue but over the last few months the set has just worn out, key is very difficult to insert or remove from the deadbolt, even after lubricating with graphite and the bolt will no longer automatically retract or spring outward once you retract it manually by moving the interior or exterior level, again this continues after disassembly cleaning an graphite lubrication. So time to utilize the lifetime warranty. This is where Schlage lets the consumer down. Called 5 times placed on automatic hold for at least 40 minutes with none of the calls answered by any customer service agent; tried the link to customer service on their website, it does not work; sent an email to customer service with all of the information their website states to include, no response and it has been 5 days as of the date of this review. Unfortunately, judging by the reviews left on Schlage's Facebook page my experience does not seem to be a limited one. The lifetime warranty is useless unless Schlage honors it and it would appear they are of the mindset that if they ignore a warranty claim it will just go away. In my case they would be correct. I am going away and will be purchasing a replacement from another manufacturer, like Kwikset, at least from what I have gathered from the internet Kwikset is actually answering their customer service line. Regardless, I will never purchase a Schlage product again.

This product meets all my safety’s expectations

We would have given a four star to this item before last night. Locked the door and came back 2 hours later and could not get in (19° F). 9:30pm-2:30am locked out in the cold. We tried all three keys. It turned both ways but would not allow the mechanism to move the bolt back. Click and nothing. Locksmith had to resort to drilling it after working on it over an hour. Nothing worked. We "broke" into our house via storm window and pane of glass. Tried opening it from the inside NOTHING! Morning came and we had to resort to a sawzall in order to into allow enough room to work the deadbolt back enough to open the door. I'm afraid the template will leave us no choice but to return and get the same one. If so, please say a prayer it doesn't happen again.

Absolutely love it! Very high-quality materials and finish. Easy to install with complete directions and extra handle for right or left hand doors. We chose to install the matching Camelot electronic keypad deadbolt (sold separately) and we're glad we did.

Ordered this set for new front door I had installed. Looks great, feels sturdy. My only complaint is when installer went to install it had a dummy lever inside and not a latching lever. I would double check prior to walking out of store. We did not use the deadbolt to this set and opted for a keypad dead bolt instead. Overall we are very pleased.

Adjustable to fit your application, installation was very smooth.

The handle is very classy. The only problem I had was with the little piece that covers the bolt on the bottom is very thin and easily bends. Be very careful putting this on because it may bend and then get ruined. Other then that its easy to install and looks wonderful.

Replacing a broken Handset and this one was the correct mirror image. We were able to replace it quickly.
