[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is ONE key factor in an amazing set of pliers. That is the joint. It all boils down to that one element that is vital to the single most important function. Stanley in it's amazing product design and standards of manufacturing have ensured the production of this tool was met. PRO: 1. Brand name. Need not go into greater detail than it's a Stanly Tool. 2. Quality of the metal used. 3. Again, the joint is precise, so tight and accurate, you could not fit a single atom in there if you tried. 4. Soft, yet durable grips. 5. That awesome color combination of Black and Yellow. 6. Sharp, correct angle and reliable cutting surface. 7. Power, with such a fine joint, little to no effort needed in the energy needed to make a cut. 8. Warrantee. Did you know, if you contact Stanley they will more than likely replace a tool, all you pay is shipping. (Correct me if I'm wrong). CON: 1. A much larger range of Diagonal Pliers is needed. 6", 8", 10", 12" and yes, even a 14" set would be nice. 2. Needs a light coat of oil, grease or lubricant to keep from small rust spots appearing, these are not stainless steel pliers. I use mine salt water fishing, and they do get some spots. OTHER: 1. BUY if you are looking for what I call the gold standard (get the joke, the yellow on Stanly tools, is gold color), in tools. 2. DON'T BUY if you are looking for stainless steel 6 in Diagonal Pliers, but then expect to pay 5X the cost.

My only complaint is that they seem to only cut certain size stuff and not the things I need cut. I have put examples in pics below of what I cut with them. I will continue using them as they are the best I have found.

They are perfect enough for me to use as well my husband and kids. They also don’t lose their hold. It’s definitely a must have for any home owner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wire cutters - have a lot of uses. I use these to help with many different tasks unlike other people. I use them regularly for pulling nails - it is so easy to grab and roll with little effort. I moreso use them for stripping wire and pulling wire. I can get wire ready with these much more quickly than with strippers. I will continue to use these as they are holding up really well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice set of cutting pliers. Very comfortable grips & sharp blades. Well made & it comes with a trusted Stanley lifetime warranty. However, I don’t think these heavy duty pliers will need a warranty. I used them to cut through 1/4” aircraft cable without any issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't used them too long but they seem solid yet easily used in one hand. I like the grips. The edges of the jaws do not meet up exactly in the middle. Doesn't seem to be much trouble with thicker wires but maybe with really thin ones. The pivot joint in the middle doesn't seem to be machined right but can't see that it affects the use of the tool. Overall I am content with them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a new pair of diagonal cutters for a while and I have found my go-to set. The double grip makes them very comfortable to use. The cut zip tie ends and wire easily. I see myself using these for a long time, they are sturdy and durable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These diagonal cutters feel great, they are of high quality and the ergonomic double dipped handles have the perfect amount of cushion while still being durable. Unfortunately the particular set I got has a cross bite (see pics), and the cutters take much more effort than they should to cut simple items. I tried cutting a zip tie with the front 1/4” of these cutters and they couldn’t go through. The lower 1/2” of the cutter faces work as intended. These lose a couple stars because of that, otherwise they feel and look better than any other cutters I have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pliers have worked out great for me. I needed to make some repairs to my chicken coop and i had some wire ties holding some gaps closed. These pliers cut through the wire ties easily and when it came time to put my new piece of chicken wire up they helped me cut it to the perfect fit with no problem. I would definitely recommend getting these pliers to have around the house!

The cutters line up perfect and there is little to no play in the joint. Handle grips are comfortable and stick to the hand well. Very satisfied with these diagonal cutting pliers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Stanley diagonal pliers are awesome, the material made is strong and the jaws are sharp to cut easily all types of metal wire. I mainly use them for all my electricity jobs because is very precise on the cuttings and is easy to use. The dipped grip is rough & oil resistant and that’s a great advantage when working on slippery wires, it’s easy to handle and do the work. The 6” size is small but ideal perform any kind of work fast and efficiently. I highly recommend this pliers for all your projects because the quality is excellent and is very comfortable working with the best mechanical tools.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these to review, so I'm not sure what the retail price of these are but I don't feel like they are worth much. the machining is so-so at best, the jaws line up fairly evenly, and there isn't a terrible amount of play in the jaw head but more than I like, the handles are the typical dipped style which are fine but they feel weak. These just feel cheap, spend a few buck more and get a higher quality pair. I generally like Stanley tools, but these will just go into my "beater tools" tool box.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great for keeping inside the toolbelt because they are small and lightweight. I like the grip and they easily cut through wires and are easy to handle. I would recommend these to anyone. They are an essential part of our toolbox.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice general purpose diagonal pliers. Comfortable size and handles for the occasional use. For someone using them frequently I suggest getting a more comfortable handle. Solid construction that should last.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever you review a product, it's important to keep in mind exactly what that product is. Since these are 6 inch diagonal pliers/wire cutters, no one can expect to get great leverage on them for cutting, etc. They are a small, utilitarian pair that are easy to transport and use for smaller jobs and will be reviewed as such. These pliers work well for small jobs. The handles are double dipped and allow you to get a decent grip. The opening opens about half an inch or so, which is plently wide for the intended use. The pliers are quite affordable too. I used it to cut various small wires. The pliers worked for the intended job, but not all of the wire was cleanly cut. Those that weren't, however, still broke easily enough. All in all, the pliers work and are a great value. I would like it if they were slightly sharper. I also have larger hands, so I prefer larger pliers, but I'm not going to hold that against the pliers. For what they are, they work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good tool stands up to the Stanley name. It cuts wire clean leaving smooth edges for less hang ups going through small spaces. I’ve even tackled some finish nails I needed a bit shorter with no visible damage to the cutting surface. Cutting pliers are a must in every tool box and these are serving me well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First project out of the package was using the 6" diagonal pliers was to cut a variety fasteners that were used for Christmas lights. Very smooth and cut through light metal and plastic wire ties with ease while also fitting well inside a small jacket pocket. Weather was cold but grip never slipped. Great pair of pliers.

Everyone knows those hard to reach zip ties on your kids toys are hard to get to, but this tool works great at cutting them without damaging the toy! Oh and did I mention they really are great for electrical work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I buy Stanley for two reasons. Quality and warranty. I use these cutting 0 gauge wire for car audio. It’s always a clean cut. I have never needed to buy another pair. You can’t go wrong with these pliers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These cutters cut all sizes of wire both stranded and solid with ease. Of course moving to larger 8 and 4 gauge wire took multiple cuts, it still moved through the wire. I also used these cutters on wire coat hangers to see how it would move through. These are typically 15 gauge lacquer coated steel and again with multiple snips it cut through the hangers. The only issue I have with these is in the manufacture. Renoving these feom the package I held them up to light fully closed and you can see light coming through the head of the pliers. Not a solid close. This could make the pliers struggle on thinner gauge stranded wire leaving strands intact in the opening. Other wise these are solid pliers and well made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid pliers that get the job done. There’s nothing fancy about these pliers. They get the job done. The grips are comfortable enough and made from tough materials that don’t slip. The 6” design is small enough to get into tight spaces.

Opens and closes very easily without having to use alot of pressure. The quality of this product is amazing! Highly recommend!

The handles are easy to grip and feel comfortable in my hands. I am impressed with how durable and strong they really are. I have been using them around the house for a variety of cutting tasks and they are precise and perform great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These 6 inch diagonal pliers worked terrific! These opened and closed very easily, didn't have to fight with them at all. However, these aren't as sharp as I'd like them to be. They did cut, but we'd have to go over what we were cutting a few times. If they were just a little bit sharper they'd be perfect! The quality is phenomenal, very heavy duty, and durable. These also have a rust resistant finish which I really like. Overall, these are great quality, just need to be a little bit sharper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I keep several pairs of diagonal cutters hanging over my workbenches. These "side cutters" are very handy for cutting most anything. Even hardened material can usually be dented enough to create a point where it can then be snapped off very close to the dimension required. The cutting edges do lose some sharpness over time. Even the oldest pair I have will still cut, they just require a little more effort. Diagonal cutting pliers provide an incredible amount of leverage. This new pair of 6" Stanley cutters is slightly larger than an otherwise identical pair of 6" Stanley cutters that I have had for many years. The new pair is about 1/2" longer overall. I have large hands (even XL gloves are often too small) so the larger size and additional leverage is very welcome. Most of these cutters have a small gap near the hinge before the cutting edges meet. This "feature" has often saved me a trip to get a proper pair of wire strippers. I've never noticed a problem cutting anything unless it was so small it might fall into that gap.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are several positives with this cutter. It's a good size and weight for most tasks. It can tackle most jobs that a 7" cutter can but is small enough to slip in your pocket. The handle grip coating is suitable for the job without too much bulk. And it provides a solid, consistent cut. I notice only a bit of flex in the handles when squeezing. Unfortunately the cutter I received won't open to full capacity, only to 3/8" at the tip, due to what appears to be poor finishing and a quality control issue. There are exposed ridges on the slide path on both sides of the pliers that block the full opening of the mouth to the shoulder stops. A few touch ups with a grinder could remove the ridges and allow the pliers to operate at full capacity. If the pliers you received open to full width, then it's a good value and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Strong and straight but could be a little longer and sharper. But overall for the price I can't complain and they cut nails heads off easily. I'd definitely recommend to any9be in need of strong short cutters.
