Beautiful matte black and shiny gold finish. Install was fairly simple. The one thing I didn’t like is when screwing on the 8 arms/tubes, the light bulb holder would unscrew on its own. Added a bit more time to the assembly portion of the fixture but overall install was quick. I chose 8 globe incandescent bulbs but only fully screw on 4 of them and it already brings in more than enough light.

My wife and I have wanted a Sputnik style light for several years. We finally pulled the trigger on this one. It's got a small copper body that the four satellite arms attach to. I really appreciate the added hardware provided, there are wire nuts, end to end connectors, shrink covers and crimp connectors. Everyone's preference is provided. There are also two pole extensions provided so you can use one (as I did) for a lower ceiling or two for vaulted ceilings or over a dinner table/island. The finish is great and nothing was damaged during shipping. I do have two cautions for anyone purchasing this fixture, however they were not large enough to lower my rating. First the opening to the ball is extremely sharp, and being as small as it is makes it easy to cut yourself if not careful. The small ball also provides limited space for fingers or tools to tightened the arms to body. I recommend at least some electricians pliers or needle nose pliers for the best outcome.

The Sputnik chandelier was installed in a dining room and immediately brought the room up to date. It was installed with 8 60W dimmable bulbs, for a more modern feel and look. The chandelier had to be assembled, which was a little tricky, but the enclosed diagram and wrench made it easier to do. The installation package enclosed included parts to cover various types of installations. With 8 60W bulbs, there is enough light for any situation.

I've had this light fixture for several days. It was packaged very well. The instructions were in small print and not easy to follow. Some of the words didn't contain spaces and made it a bit hard to read at first. For assistance, the instructions only provided an email address. I had to use trial and error in order to complete. My fingers got cut up, as I was connecting the pieces together so I had to stop for a few days so they could heal before continuing. When I began to work on the light fixture again, I noticed what I thought were pieces of cloth were a pair of thin gloves. The instructions don't mention the gloves, like I wished. Anyway, connecting the pieces together was challenging because the inside hand twist screws don't fit tight enough so the position you want the sticks to be in can easily swing to another position. One of the hand twist screws is missing, that’s why you see it hanging but the replacement part is on its way. It looks nice and upscale once you hang it on the ceiling. It’s worth a try if you have extra time on your hands.

Nice item, it has a modern clean look. Material and workmanship is good and could pass for a high end piece. Colors and design are current with todays style and will stand out. Not a bulky piece which I like as I have a smaller place. If you have a larger area to cover you might want to double check the size of this piece. Assembly was quick and simple, do pay attention to the instructions and the nuts are pre assembled on the wires. Hint: assemble all the arms 1st before placing the top back on (instructions do not point that out).
