This is the prettiest flooring! You have to get used to the Grip Strip, but once you do, it is easy. I LOVE it, putting it in the bathroom and kitchen floor of our camp!

Overall, I am happy with this product. My husband and I did it and there were no major issues with installation... and we are flooring noobs. This was the first time either of us did anything like this. I do wish that this floor had more of a shiny finish, but that's hindsight. I thought it would be more shiny than it ended up being. I LOVE how this floor looks wet, it really brings out the rich warm chocolate color. We didn't need any tools other than a box cutter, pair of scissors, a ruler, and a pencil. That being said, because it's matte, it shows everything. EVERYTHING. Scuff marks from my dog's nails (not scratches, just shiny lines), the direction you mop, dirty dog prints, etc. This is probably my least favorite thing about the floor. I think this concept is great, but I really wish they had one that was more shiny or some sort of polish/etc that could be put over it. I think it would REALLY improve the looks. And maybe not show my lack of perfect mop lines... Pros: Easy to install Relatively easy to cut Looks good Waterproof Cons The grip strip seemed to attract my German Shepherd's hair and we had to keep cleaning them The matte finish shows EVERYTHING Lots of instructions as far as what you can and can't clean it with So yes, overall, I'd recommend this flooring if you know what you're getting into. I have to admit, if I were to do it all over again, I would go with something shinier, just because I didn't think the matte finish would drive me insane. But the product isn't all that bad.

Have used TrafficMaster in three rooms now; this, allure sapelli red, the latest, in the kitchen/breakfast room. Beautiful. Photo doesn't do justice to the shades of the colors brought out by the blue of the walls and the wood of the furniture and cabinets. Variations in the colors of the allure planks give a soft glow.

Easy to install. This is the second room we have installed this in and it goes down fast. 14x14 room in one afternoon. Not too bad to cut for corners either. It is hard to clean with vacuum on hardwood setting, the dust mop is the way to go. Other than that, perfect.

We were told by Home Depot that there was no need to put down an underlayment so we laid it directly on the subfloor. We cleared and swept the area but the subfloor is a partical board and every little bump and divet shows through because the allure is so thin. When a couple of boxes were delivered in the winter a lot of the connection tabs were broken off in shipping because they lose integrity in the cold, they just snapped off so we were left piecing them together. It says you have so many seconds to remove and reapply the strip if its not aligned properly but the sticky tabs tear even if its within that time. The first day we had it we dropped a plate and it chunked a biar and the layers underneath the printed on picture top are white! We bought an ebony floor and it chunks out white! We did our hallway, dinette, kitchen bathroom and laundry with it. It looks nice when you first install it, the color is pretty and its easy to cut and snap but the sticky tab connectors can sometimes be a nightmare to install because they attract dust which leads to more dimples in the floor. We have no pets and yet our floor is scratched and there are actually full on dents in some areas when something semi heavy was placed there. Don't move heavy furniture on it, it will dent. Why did I buy more? Because I had to finish the project and got nauseous at the idea of starting over with a other laminate. But I would suggest running the other direction if you haunt bought it yet! The solace we have in using this product is that when we save up enough money to redo it (we could have bought a heavier snap and click laminate for the price) we can just use it in lieu of hardybacker and lay tile right over the top. This product is incredibly disappointing. I know it has a warranty, 25 yr residential. How to we utilize that, do I rip it up and return the pieces? It didn't make it a year in my house. The color is pretty though but I cringe when the daylight hits in and I see all of the scratches and when the night light hits in (indoor lighting) I see all the bumps dings and dimples, I just want to cry, oh and also yes, the colors don't totally match from box to box as you can see in the picture. I really want my money back, I so wish I had done the click and snap laminate instead.

We purchased and installed this flooring approximately a year ago. We installed 1700 square feet of flooring throughout our entire house. It looked great when we first put it in. It has never looked good since then. No matter what cleaner we use on it there always appears to be a film. There are scratches even though we put pads on the bottom of everything. There are dents and divots and seams seperating throughout the house. We have not gone back to Home Depot yet. We highly suggest finding another product. We would NOT recommend this product. We spent a lot of time energy and money remodeling our house and the floor looks terrible!

The floor is now lifting in areas and I need to return the product and figure out who will pay the contract the extra money to take out and replace... I purchased 10 boxes in total and paid $1600 to have it installed...not happy at all and the contractor is a 5 star and highly qualified.

I would like to start by saying that I have been a big fan of this product and that this is the THIRD room in my house that I have used it on. I have had no complaints except an issue I can't blame on the flooring in the other two rooms (I had replaced a section and for some reason the nail worked up and popped a small hole in it.) This flooring has completely let me down. It is beautiful, I did not take into account that it would show every piece of dirt or debris in the floor because it is so dark. I still do not fault it for this, I just didn't see that this would be the issue it is. My problem with this flooring is that only after two weeks there are visible scratches all over the place. A couple were caused from my couch. I did take precaution and had it on sliders, but they were no help. Everyday in bright sunlight I see more and more scratches. I can't figure out what is causing them. My only thought is that it's my small dogs nails, but this flooring should be way more durable than this. I loved it when I put it down and had great opinions... if only they lasted. Now I'm disgusted at all of the hard work that I have done, for it to look so horrible just weeks after installation.

Pretty easy to install, but we had to buy our own rollers as the Home Depot in our town didn't rent them out. Not all do so check into it beforehand. I am not convinced we needed it, I know those who didn't use one and all seems well. Other then that, no complaints. I'm really happy with how comfortable it is to walk on, and how quiet! It's not noisy like hardwood when walking around with shoes on. Great for upstairs areas!! And it's warmer to the touch. So in cold climates, your feet don't get cold walking around barefoot on it. I am extremely happy with it.

We recently had Allure dark walnut installed in our kitchen after our two-year-old Allure flooring had to be torn out due to underlying water damage. The restoration company used their own installers who had never worked with Allure. They found it relatively easy to work with. The produce looks like natural wood and is easy to maintain. We would definitely use Allure again if (god forbid) we ever have to do it again. Bruce and Sherry Pond

            Dang that was easy!
I did a totally master bed & bath renovation. The Allure flooring was the last thing to do and was really dreading it after tiling the entire bath. It was very easy to install. The planks just stick to each ones. Be careful that they are all lined up before you press down. If you need to realign a board use extreme caution because the board will rip off and you can have a potential problem. Over all very satisfied with the floor so far.

            Not for dogs!
I purchased one container of the Rosewood Ebony In 24 sq feet to lay down as a test in the most used area of my house. Bubba likes to pull a Tom Cruise in the kitchen at least twice daily. It scratched the heck out of it. The product was easy to lay but some of the sticky parts did have different thicknesses. I'm bummed. I havnt tried the suggestions of using allure single step or new beginnings. I wish this would have worked out for me. Planned on doing my whole house and basement! Honestly the 23 cent per sq foot vinyl I puchased 4 years ago has held up better.

This product was very quick and east to install. No experience necessary! Minimal tools required. Great for a bathroom, bedroom, closet, laundry room or kitchen. The planks seal together nicely. Cutting the planks to size is easy as well.

Great product, we had laminated flooring and switched to the vinyl plank because we wanted something that was easy to install ourselves, durable, looks great and easy to maintain. This flooring has met all of our expectations.

Beautiful! But not as easy as I thought..
I decided to go with these resilient planks after seeing them on TV and doing much research. They seemed pretty easy to install even for an amateur which I very much am. These floor planks would be extremely easy to install in a perfectly square or rectangular room, however I installed them in my bathroom. The worst part was fitting around the toilet. The planks do not cut easily in odd shapes, they like to snap in straight lines. So if you're doing a square room, I HIGHLY recommend. These floors really do feel like hardwood and look amazing. But be weary if you need to cut around anything.

              Great Product
This product is a great option if you are looking for a reasonably priced, DIY flooring. We installed this product six months ago to replace the carpet in our upstairs hallway. The Rosewood Ebony is gorgeous! We get so many compliments on it. We wasted a few boards at the beginning, but once we got the hang of it, installation was smooth sailing. Because the leftover piece from one row is used to start the next, there is very little waste. We were very careful about following all instructions. I was concerned about the comments about gaps at the joints. To avoid gaps, we installed the flooring at the low end of the acceptable temperature range since materials expand when warm and contract when cold. Six months later, the joints are still nice and tight. It is important to make sure the surface underneath is perfectly smooth. We had some areas that we should have spent more time preparing. The vinyl is not forgiving in this respect. The Rosewood Ebony is dark so it needs to be dry mopped frequently. It really looks great after using the recommended cleaner. Our son got sick on the flooring soon after we installed it. Clean up was very easy. We are now ready to rip up the carpet on the first floor and replace it with vinyl plank. We used the coordinating stair nosing and multi-purpose reducer at transitions to other flooring. We also got a flooring cutter to make installation easier and it was a great investment.

Looks awesome in my finished basement
I purchased a 1952 Colonial with a fnished basement that had some old musty smelling carpet. Under the carpet were ceramic tiles that were from appx. the 70's. I didn't want to relay carpet as I don't believe it makes sense to put in a basement and I didn't want to spend thousands on new ceramic tile so I opted to give this product a go. I managed to lay 240 sq. ft. of this product myself in a little of a days work. Lots of angles and 2 door casings to work around so most of this time was spent measuring and getting the cuts right. I found the installation to fairly easy for someone with decent diy skills. It sits on top of a floor that is slightly dipped from the outer edges to the middle floor drain, so the flexibility in this product proved very good at this job. It looks nice but you can definitely tell it's vinyl flooring from the sound it makes when you step on it, especially with shoes on. I'm not sure I would use this in any other room for the sake of keeping my resale value but for a finished basement at this price and ease of installation, I highly recommend this product. One con I can see is if a piece gets damaged or needs replaced for whatever reason the pieces overlap each other so I don't see an easy way of removing and replacing pieces, especially those you laid in the beginning and middle of the job

Great product for damp environment on slab
I am the least handy guy out there. I was frustrated at first because I can't draw or cut a straight line. Once I added a VERY sharp cutting blade for scoring and used a square and T for straight cuts I was impressed. If you aren't using a brand new blade...you will lose patience fast. Lesson learned. Two items I would recommend to the company: 1. Sell factory pre-cut pieces in 1 foot and 2 foot lengths. You will never get the same quality cut as the factory. Butting two planks up against each other (so you have off set seams in different rows) requires a clean, same color cut. The factory edge is the correct color. If you are slightly not good at scoring and snapping...you are left with a grey edge. The vinyl top layer will stretch and then peel back if you don't get a clean break. I wasted a few planks before I got the hang of that. 2. Each plank is designed to be laid in one direction. If you damage the corner or the end, or if you cut the operating end off of a plank...whatever is left over is not usable. Why? Because the glue strip on the leading edge of the previous plank is designed to line up level with the factory cut and notched underside of the next one and remain the same thickness. Once you cut off the pre-engineered edge...the rest of that plank cannot be used. I thought about just not using a glue edge on the previous plank and leaving the next plank short end unglued but it will crack and break eventually under pressure and then look awful. My last box that I really needed to finish the job, was damaged in transport and I didn't find this out until the last night of the job. The corners were broken on every piece. This renders the whole box unusable. Home Depot was fast to refund me one box but would not assist with ordering the replacement box. I think they could have assisted there and expedited shipping to help out. But overall they were easy to work with.

Looks great and easy to install - with a couple of tips
I decided to go with this floor after my neighbor, who is a contractor, recommended it. It looks great, is comfortable and quiet to walk on, and cleaning it is a breeze. My installation was made easier thanks to a few tips from my contractor-neighbor. The best tip was to score the plank, and then use pliers to bend and snap the plank for intricate or narrow cuts - like for around doorways, etc. He also suggested that after I measured the floor, I divided by the width of the plank and if it appeared that I would be left needing one narrower row, that I make the cut to the very first row be laid down, instead of the last. That way I would be cutting from the side of the plank without adhesive. If you buy this product, you'll know what I mean. :) This actually saved me from wasting 5 planks. A reviewer who gave this product 1 star complained that the planks don't "snap" together. No where does it says that they do. But they do stick together really well and I found that I had a little bit of wiggle room to make adjustments until I pressed down and ran my hand over the seams. After that, it's pretty much a done deal. I did have 1 plank that came out of a box that was already open in the store when I bought it, and I think it may have gotten a little dusty. The ends of the plank began to come up the day after installation. I used a hair dryer to heat the seams and was able to easily remove the damaged plank and install a new one. Problem solved. For any small seams (no one else noticed the spot where I overcut by the bathroom door, but I knew it was there) you can use Polyblend tile caulk, sold near the grout. I used Brown Sable and it worked great. Some reviewers mentioned an odor. I have a very sensitive nose and I did notice a mild vinyl smell the first couple of days but it subsided very quickly. It's been over a month and even with several hot days - 80's & 90's, there is no odor. After doing one room in the Dark Walnut, we were so pleased that we went ahead and did our downstairs hallway in the Bamboo. It was a near exact match for the real bamboo flooring that we have in the rest of the space. I actually regret that we didn't know about this flooring sooner because it's easier to care for than our other floors, the installation is fast, and I don't have to drag out the saw and make a dusty mess cutting planks!

Two months later, the fun continues...NOT
I hired a top-notch handyman to install this floor, made sure the materials acclimated to my air-conditioned house for at least 48 hours as recommended - and it has been nothing but a headache. The installer (not a Home Depot one) tried everything, even turning off the a/c for a day and going at it with his heat gun. He called the manufacturer (who approved of the heat gun approach, btw), and they suggested Krazy Glue. Seriously?? So here I am, 2 months later with the edges curling up on about 1/3 of the planks (I had 1250-1300 sq feet installed...$3K in materials, $2K in labor). I bought a bunch of concrete bricks and am going plank by plank with the glue and weighing them down for 18-24 hours with the bricks. And it's not going so well. I thought it was working about 90% but after 3-4 days of doing this, I see some of the curling coming back. It's looking more like 75% now. If I could turn back time and do it all over again, I'd pick flooring with click-lock installation, not glue strips. In case it matters, I live in central Florida. I have posted a picture of my disappointing planks showing the problem. What a shame, because if it weren't for this huge installation snafu, the planks are quite beautiful.

                  Great look, easy install.
Great floor and very easy to install. I have purchased this product before and had it installed by Home Depot. As I watched this it looked like quite an easy job. So this time rather than pay someone else to do it I tackled it myself. I am fairly handy with most household repairs and don't really like to call people to do a job I can do myself. Slight learning curve at the start and wasted a few slats, but after I got the hang of how they went together and it was a snap. I would not hesitate to recommend this install or product to anyone looking for a good looking and durable floor with basic handy skills.
