Had the LW15 model for over four years - it still works great!. Time to upgrade to the LW45 , since my Dyson has failed and it was a year younger than the Venta and it cost so much more to maintained - acid packs , filters , evaporators .....and now the pump. Sorry Dyson - looks great on visuals , but bad on cost and longevity

I have one of these for my pet Iguana for her humidity as she is such a nice good natured pet. It is one of 3 I have for her, their is this unit, a Honeywell wick type unit and a zoomed fogger. This one has proven to be the most maintenance free, the Honeywell burns through wicks, really does not humidify better then this unit and it also can not clean the dust out of the air. The zoomed unit has been replaced 1 or 2 times in the same time I have has this unit due to total failure, and I have had to replace the fogger fan's so many times I have a box of replacement fans not to mention having to scrape off build up on the vibrating disk and it also can not suck the dust out of the air. SO out of 3 different types of humidifiers being this kind, wick type and misting, this one seems to be the best unit as it requires the least maintenance and does not need to be baby sit like the other 2 types of units. As their really is some thing to be said for how much of your time a humidifier should take up and constant maintenance really is not desirable. So if your sick of units that the wicks go dry in so you have to soak them every day and replace them too often, or misting types that the vibrating disk or fans go bad in all of the time, try one of these as you will not be disappointed.

This is wonderful if you have some nose bleeds when it's really cold in the winter ! I did not have but one this year compared to several as I usually do. It is easy to clean every two weeks & I only wished that Home Depot offered the most important thing you must buy Venta water treatment additive that you add to it every two weeks when you clean it out. The is a must to have ! Home Depot sells all the Venta products except for the Water Treatment Additive & I wished I didn't have to shop around for it else where ! That is the only down side. Please start stocking this Home Depot !

The Venta humidifier we bought replaced a Venta humidifier we bought about 35 years ago. The new one is improved, has an on off switch for example, but is basically the same. It works very well to keep our home warmer and more comfortable in the winter. I recommend it!

Good but expensive for a humidifier.

Excellent, low maintenance humidifier that is easy to use, easy to clean and is effective at creating humidity in cold, dry Canadian climates. This is our second Venta humidifier and we would highly recommend.

Expensive; hard to understand why this couldn’t be made in USA for less.

Simple design. Easy to fill and use. Uses tap water. Easy to clean. Works. Keeps my humidity levels at about 50%. I can feel the difference. A great product.

It keeps the relative humidity in our large living room and open dining room at 50% or higher all through our Midwest winters. You just fill it with tap water (no more lugging home jugs of distilled water) and a dose of their water treatment additive and change the water every two weeks. It’s made well and works very simply - we’ve had it 3 years and it’s still working great. The price is high, but I’ve replaced so many humidifiers that didn’t really work and then died, it seems worth it.

It gets the job done.

I've had this for about a month and am extremely pleased with it. This unit rocks! I've gone through a lot of different humidifiers over the years and this one is by far the best one I've ever owned. I keeps my 950 sq.ft townhouse at a steady 40-42% humidity even on the coldest, driest winter days. It's expensive, but extremely well built. Having said that, I'm giving it a 4 rather than 5-star rating for the following reasons: (1) It doesn't come with a hard copy user's manual. Venta states that the reason is to cut down on their " carbon footprint" yet the packaging comes with a lot of Styrofoam. Go figure. For $500.00, a hard copy user's manual should be included. (2) They only include 2 tiny bottles of their water treatment additive. For the price, more of it should be included. (3) No cleaning solution included. For that you have to buy it separately (thankfully Home Depot sells it) but costs add up (4) Finally, the biggest drawback is that there are no casters attached to the unit in order to easily moved it around. For that, you have to buy Venta's expensive "trolley".

Ok I’ve been using for a month now. This will evaporate 8 liters of water per day. If you’re starting out with a bone dry house it takes awhile for humidity levels to get up. In a month I have raised the main floor humidity from 15% to 32% which is pretty good. The product itself will leave a surprising amount of calcium on the bottom of the reservoir which is easy to clean out. Seems solidly built and no one’s complained about the noise running it 24/7 on high setting. I wish it didn’t cost $500 bucks, seems excessive for some plastic but you don’t have to pay to maintain it going forward.

So far, so good. Very quiet. Would recommend it.

A plus is low maintenance, a negative is it can't bring my 600sqft basement over 40% humidity. But it does evaporate a gallon per day, I guess my basemen is just that dry.

We bought the Venta LW45, the largest unit and it should cover 645 square feet. The room we put it in has 600 square feet and forced air heating. The unit is relatively quiet and easy to clean. But it does NOT humidify. We used it for one month, day and night, but the humidity level did not go up. It might wash the air because we found some particles in the water when the unit got cleaned. The venta is also too expensive for what you get and in addition a water treatment additive needs to be added on a regular base and it is pricey, too. We are wondering why the Venta gets so many good reviews. That was the reason we bought it but we returned the Venta.

Liked much this good quality product. Bought this because high amount of dust particles coming off the new wall paintings of my newly built home under the heating condition in winter time. As anticipated, this device can effectively filtered dust particles and improves the air quality. Price wise it could be too high but can be adjusted by long term use.

These are the perfect humidifiers. Clean, quiet, effective, and no pools of air droplets all over near them. So worth the money

Cleans a surprising amount of dust in the air and does a decent job of humidifying a large area. We have an open floor plan and this is in a room that is probably 1000 sq ft. Together with two smaller humidifiers in bedrooms this can take the whole house from 30% humidity to 50% humidity. It is barely audible when on the lowest setting, but is definitely on the louder side when set to maximum. Doesn't bother us since we only turn it up at night on particularly cold/dry nights.

So far very good using the Venta in a large living room with vaulted ceilings and it's been working fine in use for about 3 weeks we'll see when the really cold dry weather gets here.
