The grate itself is great as is all weber products. However the 22.5" grate arrived in a box you could ship a 2.5 ton heat pump in. This is not an exaggeration.

I bought this to use in my fireplace. I have used it once, so far I'm pleased with it.

The grill grate worked very well on my Ugly Drum Smoker build. It fits perfect in a 55gal drum.

Weber OEM trips replacement parts keep my kettle bbq working like new.

The price is right, I replace this grate about every 2 years.

We enjoy the smokey taste from hickory, mesquite and apple wood. On the standard grill, adding chips once the grill is in place is not as simple as you may want when enjoying a friends & family BBQ. The access from this grill makes it a snap to recharge with smoking chips, which is especially convenient on a long cook, such as tritip or chuck roast. This pic does not show the side opened up, but I can attest it opens easily.

If your looking to upgrade your Weber Grill or need to replace the grill surface don't overlook the grill with a hinge. It helps make things easier to load more coals or push them once your grilling. If you look at the new premium Weber grills you'll notice this grill is inside. I ordered the grill, a new style ash chatcher and vent vanes to-upgrade my Weber to work as the newer premium unit for under 100.00 bucks . This grill works great , well built and expect lots of years service.

Did what it's supposed to do: kept my grillables from falling into the charcoal. The hinges are a nice touch for moving around the briquettes. 10/10; would grill again
