Hi DrPcFix,
Thanks for your question! You can apply the primer using a high quality 3/8-1/2" nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or an airless sprayer (.015-.021" spray tip, 60 mesh filter).

Answer:
Dear kit700,
Thank you very much for your question. BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer No. 436 is a vapor barrier primer and should not be used as a breathable primer. This primer is designed to keep water vapors from travelling through the primer film. Good luck with your project.

Answer:
Hi PL,
We appreciate your interest in our primer! Unfortunately we don't recommend applying this product to fiberglass. You may want to reach out to your local Home Depot for some recommendations on what kind of primer you can use on this type of surface. Good luck with your project! - Sara

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Paint reasonable price! This paint comes on smoothly and a beautiful finish, it dries surprisingly fast. You won't be disappointed, oh and it's easy on your pockets!!! November 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Goes on smooth and covers well. I have used this primer on several projects. Several years ago I applied this product to aluminum siding using a sprayer and then a top coat of Behr paint. The siding still looks great. Just recently I used the Behr exterior primer on a solid fir exterior door. The primer went on nice and smooth. With the smooth primer I was able to apply a smooth top coat. The door looks perfect. I would recommend this product to any body looking for a good exterior water based primer. Clean up was easy too. I would recommend using a brush comb to get all the paint out of your brush though. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The right paint for the job The paint worked extremely well. We did the outside aluminum siding on the porch. It looks great. July 15, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Paint and Primer I used the exterior Behr paint and primer to paint unfinished pine window boxes, applying 3 coats. Within 14 days the pine knots and other areas began to show through. Now 45 days later parts of the boxes look like they have only one coat of paint. Very disappointing. Would use Kilz primer and a separate exterior paint next time....which will be within the next few weeks as the boxes look awful July 18, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT product! Love this product! We purchased a home a little over a year ago that appears to have not seen paint in a very long time. The exterior of the house had extensive areas with mildew, old paint peeling, or completely gone, and the paint that was left was chalky and streaky looking. For those reasons I decided to prime first and then use Behr ULTRA (paint and primer) over the primer. After thoroughly cleaning the house, removing peeling paint and damaged areas, I applied one coat of tinted primer. I cannot tell you what a different this product made. It is very forgiving of uneven areas, goes on smoothly and evenly, dries quickly and to a nice finish. People I don't even know from the neighborhood were stopping in front of the house to tell me how great it looked. I told them it was only primer, that the paint was going to be a different color…they just couldn't believe it. On that note, they also couldn't believe that I was painting the house by myself. It's a 3200 sf cape cod and I had the front (minus the trim) done in 3 hours…that's how easy this product is to work with. I'm not a house painter by trade, I'm a retired woman in pretty good shape. lol Anyway, I'll be adding another review for Behr ULTRA, which I am almost equally impressed with. As others have noted, it does stick. I was using "blue" gloves most of the time, but still managed to get paint on myself here and there…it sticks. I'm not complaining about that, though. One wants the product to stick. Based on my experience/results, I couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend the primer. Time will tell on how long it holds up, although I'm guessing it will last. The house looks like a completely different place! Thank you, Behr, for a wonderful product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] April 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Clean up nightmare I have painted with water-based paint for years and never have experienced a clean up nightmare like the one I had yesterday --trying to clean my paintbrush and bucket. The instructions said "cleans up with soap and water" -- so that's what I used. My paintbrush is a globby mess and has to be thrown away. This paint did not act like other water-based paints I have used in the past. Even after washing and scraping my hands several times last night, I still have paint on them this morning. The only thing I can say for the paint in the positive is that it will probably be a long-lasting primer! August 17, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great I found the paint to be very easy to use, and I was impressed by its self-leveling ability. I rolled it on using an ultra high-density foam roller, which left somewhat of a ripple pattern. When dry, this rippling was almost imperceptible. I used a brush on a couple spots around the door panels, and the brush strokes also leveled. June 23, 2014
