Product Overview

The Yard Butler Lawn Coring Aerator revitalizes old lawns while using less water and fertilizer. Old lawns can become compacted. Thatch from dead roots can also build up to create a thick barrier, keeping water and air from reaching the roots. By removing two 3 1/2 in. cores, the Lawn Coring Aerator reduces compaction and thatch to let air, water, and fertilizer down to the root zone. At the same time it stimulates root growth by “pruning” the roots. Golf courses and baseball fields everywhere aerate their lawns. The heavy duty powder coated steel is guaranteed to last a lifetime.

  • Removes two 3 1/2 in. cores, reducing soil compaction while letting air, water and fertilizer get down to the roots

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's supposed to. This little thing gets the job done. I did probably 3500 sq. ft. with it and didn't have any major problems (the back yard ain't gonna happen). It had been damp in our area after the remains of a tropical storm came through, but no real rain the week before I used it and I didn't water. Only a half-dozen or so issues of clogging, usually when I forced it into a rocky patch and had a pebble stuck. It works just fine, it's just not something you want to use for a very large yard. I'll be renting a machine next fall. Word of warning: I'm 5'7" and it was about right for me, though probably would be ok for someone a few inches taller. Tall guys, you might be bending a little too far for it to be tolerable. October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value and well built I researched many different aerators on the market and chose the Yard Butler based on other consumer reviews, ratings and value. I found it to be very well build, easy to use and I was able to get the job done much faster then I thought it would take based on other reviews I had read. I would recommend giving your lawn a very good watering the night before and again an hour or two prior to aerating your lawn. I recommend this product to anyone whose lawn isn't large enough to require a riding mower. This product is perfect for yards under a couple thousand square feet. September 23, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by perfect! Worked as expected I thought this product performed great! I watered my lawn well the night before and the plugs popped out with ease. I have a clay type soil and while it did clog up a few times it was usually because a small rock was stuck in it. I aerated my front and back lawn over a matter of two days while I was outside with the kids. This product worked fabulously. I am pleased with my purchase. June 18, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not very pleased! I was very hopefully that this product would work. I read a handful of positive reviews. I have a small patch of grass <250 sq ft. This product got clogged every time I would step. It's was a pain to remove the cores that got stuck. The holes are too small. It took me more than 4 hrs to finish my area. Would not recommend this product. I suggest renting a machine. April 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by cores get stuck I used this in the tight spots where the aerator machine couldn't get to. The plugs/cores don't come out of the hand held tool. It's annoying to have to get a stick or a drill to get them out. Aerating the lawn makes a huge difference, however, save your money on this tool or expect to put in some extra effort getting the plugs out. May 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product! Great product if you have a small yard. I live in a townhouse with small front yard and medium size back yard. Be sure the ground is soft, recommend watering grass night before you want to use this product! April 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ok product, time consuming as expected product works, just a slow process one step at a time. also remember to remove the last piece of dirt because it will dry and not work May 27, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Purchase For the value and ease of use this is a great product. Took under 2 hours to do around 800 sq. ft of lawn. It did get plugged up a couple of times but not a big problem. June 10, 2014
