Would definitely recommend this door. It looks beautiful and installation was typical for a screen door. Both the top and bottom of the glass opens for wonderful air flow. The inside handle can be either pushed or turned to open the door.

The door looked nice and for the most part was easy to install but just time consuming so you make sure you do it right. Only thing I really have to comment on is that the door I purchased is a colonial style so the outside handle that came with it is a knob that you turn to open from the outside. The knob doesn't spin as easy as you would think so I am not sure if something is too tight or there isn't enough clearance where connecting the inside to outside handle in the door. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Xyriut Great look, good service, but seemingly low quality construction
This was easy enough to assemble, though it does indeed some drilling to mount the mortise setup and the frame. I expected that for the frame, but I would have preferred knockouts for the mortise. Unfortunately, though it looks good, and the screen seems to perform fairly well, the interior materials are low quality, probably particle board. Since these doors aren't exactly perfectly sealed, you can expect screws to start coming loose, and eventually a poor fit in the frame as the particleboard turns to mush, and the door begins to warp. The problem is, I'm not sure what material could be used, that would be waterproof, yet dense enough to hold a screw, long term.
Our handleset had to be replaced because the metal began to deteriorate. Fortunately EMCO was reasonably responsive, and they replaced it under warranty. Later, the entire door began to deteriorate around the edge of the frame, and they even replaced that. So, while the product clearly needs to be redesigned, service was quite good. So, I'm on my second door, and the lower hinge just snapped clean in half, so I need to order a new hinge. That's about 75 bucks including shipping. I just don't know what to do with this thing...

I surprised myself installing this unit. Although two people would do a quicker job, the door was very easy to install.

My major issue with the door is the screen on the bottom half. I had their older design and lasted quite a number of years. With grandchildren and pets pushing on screen, it didn't last three weeks before tearing at bottom of the screen. The older doors with the screen at top work out much better.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DJ I made the right choice!
I paid to have Home Depot do the installation and I was very happy with 'Kelly' that did the work. My door is beautiful and really sets off my house. The faux window pane look matches my windows. It's also nice to have a different look from most storm doors you see.
