How do I clean the screen side of the windows? I cannot figure out how to tilt the windows to clean? I believe I have this model. Please asap...

I have the 300 series almond triple track storm door from Home Depot
Asked by: John
The glass panel can be lifted out of the track by pulling the latch at the lower end of each glass on both sides at the same time and lifting it up towards you and you can easily access the screen side of the glass panel.

will this open wider than 80 degrees ?
Asked by: driverme
Thank you for your question. The typical opening range of a storm door is between 80º and 90º if the closer is installed correctly. For more information about this door, please visit www.stormdoors.com. - Charmaine

This is a heavy, old fashioned door that is difficult to handle for the average homeowner. As others have complained before, the instructions are terrible. A few well placed stickers for what goes where as well as a tool/bit size requirement list on the outside of the box would have helped. If you don't carry large, outsized drill bits , prepare to shell out another $25 for what's required. I could put on 2 Anderson quick install doors which look a whole lot better and operate smoother .....at less cost ....in the time it took for this clunker. I was forced to buy it by my condo association. They must like the outdated styling.

Fairly easy to install if you have some experience with installing lock sets in doors. After you have basically installed the storm door, the "easy" instructions tell you to get a professional to install the handle assembly if you are not proficient enough at this final procedure. This requires the ability and tools to drill several holes in the door to install the handle and lockset. The ability to place the handle on either the left or right of the door requires YOU to do all the drilling with the use of the template provided. If you can't do this, then arrange for the installation by a professional. EMCO should let you know this in their so called "easy 2 hour" installation advertising They Don't! Surprise!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Solid Storm Doors... until they DETERIORATE! Originally purchased 2 doors in 2007... have replaced the back door & front door once each because of corrosion in 2011 and am now on the 2nd replacement for the front door. Although I was glad they honored the warranty in 2011, it was a pain to remove the doors, haul them to Home Depot for the replacements and re-install. The corrosion on the back door was around the lock set and along the bottom edge. The corrosion on the front door was along the edge and bottom. The bottom edge of the door is exposed wood core until you attach the sweep so I thought that was where the moisture was coming from and traveling up inside to cause the corrosion. Before I hung the replacements in 2011, I painted the bottom edge before installing the sweeps and around the holes drilled for the lock sets. Didn't solve the problem... The front door has corrosion AGAIN (inside and outside) on the hinge side and near the bottom corner of the window( inside). Imagine it won't be long for the back door to show the same. A few weeks ago, I contacted Andersen/Emco to find out about a replacement under warranty which they offered but it's now just a replacement door panel (no hardware, etc.) OR you can pay for a FULL replacement albeit at 1/3 the cost of a new door. Since this is replacement #2 (same issue) I asked whether they had changed anything in how they're manufactured so they don't corrode? No... Do they have any recommendations to pass along (sealer, caulk, etc.) when installing to prevent this from happening again? No... So I can replace this under warranty again, disassemble, lug to store, lug new one home, & re-install... just to do it over again in a few years, but by that time the original warranty will be over and I'll just have to buy a new door! and it darn sure won't be one made by Andersen/Emco!! They did say if I PAY for the full replacement that I can bring it to the store to 'upgrade' (pay MORE) to an aluminum Andersen door which does not have the inner wood core (that's the only fix to stop the corrosion)... and the new door will have a new warranty since it's a new model. Wish they would've said this the FIRST time I replaced these!! If THIS design is flawed, fix it or STOP selling them! Save yourself the headache, buy another storm door. This one WILL deteriorate if it is exposed to 'weather' (hmmm ... isn't that what a storm door is for??)

Too much work to install ,need to drill holes for handle and lock need 5/8 bit ...who has that in their tool box can't get screen out unless you flex it substantially, screen exposed on outside to damage from kids or pets ,nice looking door but better to spend the extra 100 to upgrade and save time installing
