Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 65 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase, easy to install. My house is about 12 years old, so the smoke alarms were dying - replacing the batteries only made the midnight chirping happen more randomly. I purchased these figuring I'd tackle it one afternoon. It took less than an hour to get all of them put up. The old ones were yellowed, these are hardly noticeable against my ceiling now. Good buy. Remember! Exercise caution when dealing with wiring, when in doubt, flip the main breaker.. setting a few clocks is better than electrical shocks! March 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fire Alarm Replacement Replaced 6 interconnected hard wired with batter backup fire alarms. Took about an hour. Cut power at breaker. Removed each old alarm from mounting plate then unscrewed mounting plate and 3 wire nuts for hard wired plug. Installed new plug with 3 color coded wires with wire nuts. Installed new mounting plate. And twisted on new alarm. Repeat 5 more times. Voila. Family safe and up to code. April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy for the novice DIYer I have 6 older (12 years) smoke alarms from Firex (Kidde) and when 2 of them started to act up (chirping when the battery was good and no green light showing on one and one green light blinking) I called Kidde and was told this model would be an exact match. So I ordered them and less than a week later had them. I decided to replace the mounting brackets as the old ones were yellowed with age, and that was easy to do (just 2 screws involved). I would recommend wearing a headlamp with a swivel lens as it can be dark near the ceiling and plugging the new alarm in is much easier with good light. May 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Bought thes to replace expired Kidde 1275 detectors. Simple install and reconnect! April 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great replacement detectors for an older model. I bought these detectors to replace ones that were over 10 years old (I believe the older model was Kidde 1275). These new ones were easy to install and plugged right into the old hardware and electrical. October 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product and very easy install. product was packaged great and worked right out of the box. easy to install without any headaches. hardest part was getting on the adder. April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exact replacement Bought these to replace our 12 yr old alarms that came with our new home. We didn't have to do any adjustments, just remove the old unit & base and replace with the new. January 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement alarms The smoke alarms that were installed when the house was built (2004) started to malfunction (false alarm at 3 a.m). Pulled down the offending alarm and saw where it had a 10 year life so decided to replace all of them. Checked with Home Depot online and found a replacement pack. Had them delivered (free) a few days later. Got out my ladder, disconnected the old alarms, put in the new alarms which had the same connectors, and was finished in about 30 minutes. And they even came with batteries already installed. January 6, 2015
