Q:How well does it vacuum and mop in corners?
by|Feb 1, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The Q7 Max Plus doesn't support flexible side brush or flexible mop. The side brush and mop are fixed and it normally can vacuum and mop the corners properly except some corners where the robot cannot reach.

Q:Can I just use the vacuum instead of the combination?
    by|Jan 27, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  You can buy the Q7 Max directly which has the regular small dock. For Q7 Max Plus, it's along with Auto-Empty Dock Pure.

          What a NIGHTMARE!
Long story short- my vacuum spread dog poop everywhere. I contact customer support. They tell me to “wash” it. I do, it breaks. They fight me for 5 months over a new one. It’s still under warranty. I contact the BBB after receiving no reponse to over 20 emails (blamed it on a system error, yeah right) to Roborock. I contact them again, I get a “refurb” vacuum. What a nightmare, I will never buy a vacuum from Roborock again! I’ll probably just sell this one when I get it!

Not enough suction, to empty the dust bin
This model does not have the power to empty the dustbin when it is completely full. With three labrador retrievers, I expected it to pick up the hair and empty it, unlike my previous model that wasn’t self emptying. I’m very disappointed to learn that I have to send it back to the doc halfway through what I feel is the Cleaning in order for it to empty. If the dustbin is completely full, it does not have enough suction power to empty it and you have to manually do it, this negates the reasoning behind the self emptying one. Very disappointed!

              Does its job with limitations
It maps out our home and allows custom schedulings. Vacuums clean but mops with one piece of mop through out… however, it can never complete one cleaning iteration because it cannot handle our IKEA Toby chairs. It keeps trying to go over the legs and gets stuck every time. It’s very frustrating. I’m giving it a 3 star since it may be able to finish its job with other chairs.

                Amazing
I love the ease of selecting a specific room to clean. The RoboRock has great suction. I have only used it for vacuuming. I do plan on using the mopping feature very soon.

                Loving this so far!
I haven't had to sweep or vacuum my hardwood floors since receiving this. I love selecting the clean function and letting it work! It takes about an hour and a half to clean approximately 1100 sq ft of my home. It is incredibly efficient and gets the job done. I love how it goes under cabinets. Those are not always easy to access with a regular vacuum. I created a layout of my house and can tell it to only clean certain rooms or draw a zone for it to clean. It has trouble finding its location on occasion, but it gets it right most of the time. Throughout the course of the cleaning, I've learned that I need to empty the dust bin fairly often. I probably do so about 3 times during the process. We have 2 dogs that shed and it picks up all the dog hair as it goes. It is wonderful that I can be doing ANYTHING ELSE while the vacuum is working. Once it is done, any bits of dust, pet hair, or crumbs will be picked up. It all goes in the bin. The bin is easy to remove and empty. It isn't terribly loud. I can hear it running and tell that it is working, but I can have a conversation in the same room as it is working. It is connected to the internet so I can tell it to run while I am out of the house. This works really well. I'm glad it is a part of the family!

                Time and Labor Saver
Fabulous time and labor saver. Wish I had this when my kids were little. To begin, I read the user manual a couple times, The first 14 pages provide Safety Instructions and an introduction to the ROBOROCK-parts and location. READY,SET,GO beginning on pg. 15 are instructions to get ROBOROCK up and running. Connected to our WiFi and started initial charge So, Completed thru pg.17. Waited for charge. FINISHED CHARGING, book shows mopping next but I wanted to try without water first. So Skipped over pgs. 18 and 19 which tell how to fill the water tank and attach mop bracket. Small quibble there is a caution label instructing the removal of the mop cloth bracket if not mopping, attached to the mop cloth bracket, but not mentioned in user manual. So anyway, picked up with instructions on pg. 20 since I wanted to vacuum first. Vacuuming lifts up the carpet nap, picks up dirt and leaves room looking clean. While the vacuum was running I went into the Manage Map, named rooms and indicated carpeted area as NO Mop zone. Had to fiddle with the dividing line a bit to avoid getting on the carpet. (We think the line is based on center of robot) After the third vacuum was finished, I went back to page 18 & 19 to get ROBOROCK setup to mop. Mopping worked as expected and will keep a clean floor clean, barring any major mess being made. My home is multi level so the next step for me was to create maps for the other floors. I could set a cleaning schedule with the app, but for now I’m enjoying pressing the clean button and watching ROBOROCK go. Observations, Easy to use app. For the first attempt the robot broke room into quadrants, caused us to wonder how well this was gonna work, but this was just, we think, ROBOROCK learning the layout and determining what it could do before battery drained. Has multiple vacuum suction settings, max suction is not particularly loud and would describe as a bit quieter than standard vacuum. Has multiple mop water settings too. Pause, will stop ROBOROCK in it’s tracks Circles back around if you interrupt/block the path. Adapts path when stuff is moved. To open the dustbin is tricky and took us a bit to figure out. You need to press down on the two arrows and then push in the direction the arrows indicate to open. Frustration free experience. Fun for the whole family. We’ve named ours Spot.

Roborock vacuums have one major flaw from what I’ve experienced with two different models. The roller (orange) and roller (gray) housing never stay on. Both will fall off during the vacuum cycle. You have to walk around the house and find each piece. The Q5 and Q7 plus both mapped the house well. They do a good job vacuuming when the unit stays intact. This roller and roller housing issue prevents the vacuum from actually picking up what it’s rolling over. I’m going to return my second Roborock due to this major design flaw.
