Answer:
The rungs are not totally flat they are slightly curved, but none the less the key is watch where you are stepping and definitely one step at a time and do not jump down you will twist your ankle, if not this time maybe next time. Play safe, put the odds in your favor, one step at a time.

Answer:
both is actually correct - the rungs are mostly circular with a flattened top for stepping on. The bottom part of the rung is rounded for stability and about a 3/4" flat area on top is good for your feet to get a stable footing as you climb.

The D1200-2 series aluminum extension ladders have the "D" shaped rungs, which provide a flat surface for the user to stand on.

Answer:
The recommended overlap has to be at least 3ft for safety, So the maximum height of 16ft extension ladder would be 13 ft . The number 16ft is the total length of the ladder full extended but can't be used that way.

Answer:
It's actually a 13 foot ladder, being sold as 16 feet because, apparently, they can label it that way because it contains 2 8 foot sections. Go figure.

Answer:
A 16 foot extension ladder is made from two 8 foot sections of ladder. When fully extended, the working length of the ladder is 13 feet. The overall length of the ladder, 16 feet, is measured by the total length of materials, two 8 foot sections.

I think that tiers are the separate sections that made up the ladder and extend up to the total design height.

Answer:
The ladder Types are the load ratings which a ladder can safely support. A Type III ladder can hold 200 pounds, and a Type II ladder can support 225 pounds. The ladder's weight rating is maximum load which can be put onto a ladder at one time, including user plus all materials.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 33 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good ladder for the price This ladder was just what I expected-- a sturdy, light-duty ladder for occasional use at a low price. It doesn't twist, it's light enough to easily put on my roof rack to transport, and didn't cost too much. The plastic end caps at the top seem like they may fall off one day, but that can be fixed. Good value for the money. Try not to weigh too much though! I weigh 205lbs, so that leaves me 20lbs of materials to carry up and down. If you're lugging heavy stuff, try to weigh 150 or so ;-) September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great ladder, best price This Werner ladder is great quality and the price was best overall. It was in stock for wuick pickup. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smaller 16' extension ladder, fits inside my SUV Excellent choice. there was a slightly cheaper 16' ladder but I had previously owned a ladder that was too light and bounced too much as you climbed it. This ladder was still very light to move and rigid without the bounce. Extended smoothly and fit into the back of my Suburban easily. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Standard item for home The design of the ladder is good. The price was good. Will make of this ladderto paint overhang. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Going Up In The World This 16' extension ladder is perfect for my house. Although it only extends to 13', that is plenty for me since my house is only 16' at the peak. I can get it painted. It is more than enough to get on the roof. Also since it will compact down to 8' it fits in the back of my pick-up bed with the tail gate up. It is rated for 225#s that's enough to handle me @ 210# and a bucket of paint. I think it could even take another 30#s easily. May 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love the ladder Ladder is light weight and sturdy. Very happy with the purchase. I am a 59 year old DIY woman, and was able to handle the ladder just fine. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LIGHT WEIGHT AND STURDY Light weight, sturdy and safe. 4 months usage in seaside atmosphere. No signs of corrosion so far. March 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Ladder Good extension ladder but it can be unstable when leaning against a rough and uneven surface like stone siding. I also purchased an aluminum ladder stabilizer at Home depot to give it more stability. October 1, 2013
