I purchased 3 of these. This is the first review I've written on anything, so something has to really be wrong before I'd write one.
Here's the problems with these blinds:
1. The slats are not fixed i.e. the string doesn't run through them except at the top and bottom, so they slide sideways. If one end raises higher, then the blinds all slide out to one side - very poor design. They put little notches in the sides of the slates so the string will catch them, but it doesn't.
2. The strings in the mechanism on top came undone on me. These were factory knots - not mine.
3. As another review indicated, they are very hard to shorten. I consider myself pretty handy, but I must've spent an hour getting the length set correctly.
I'm taking one back right now. I'd take all three back if I had time to put 3 different ones up right now.

I had purchased the same blinds two years ago and they were top quality blinds. I just ordered the same blinds and I was very disappointed. The wood was very thin and there was blotches of stain that was a darker color like they had spilled. I didn't try to return them because I had them cut to fit my window before I noticed what they were like. I feel like it was a waste of money and I will not purchase them at this store again.

I love these blinds! There is a street light tht shines into my bedroom at night, making it hard to sleep. These blinds with the 2" slats block all light. My bedroom is dark and I can sleep very good in a dark room.

I installed three sets of these mini blinds. Each set installed quite easily but shortening the blinds was extremely time consuming and sometimes frustrating. The unused slats remove very easy. Cutting the excess cord and putting the bottom piece back together is where I spent the majority of my time. Threading the string through the holes on the bottom piece was tricky. I finally took a drill bit and cleaned the burrs out of each hole and that made the job easier. I am a perfectionist so I spent extra time making sure all of the cords were the same length and that everything pulled evenly. I probably spent two hours on each set but it was worth it in the end.
