I went to return two curtain rods that the cashier, manager and store Mgr agreed was theirs but clearances out to 1cent. Without a receipt, 1 cent is all I could get on store credit. I knew I paid retail, not on sale and would like to shop at the 1cent area. My debit card was replaced 3 times and not connected to original checking account I've had for years. I could have paid on another card I no longer have, or cash as well. Could only find one of my two rids in system, though I believe I bought them at the same time, but maybe I didn't or from another HD. All HD should accept returns from all HD. 2nd Mgr said he could look on old debit cards for years, which I gave him but he didn't find them. It sems to me you should accept them at retail giving me a store credit. Poor customer relations. I mentioned how I shop there so often one employee said I should get an orange apron. (Joking) 2nd head Mgr said if he had done that he could be fired and never should have offered as that is clearly against the store policy. Good grief. Cashier was very nice. Female mgr seemed rote in reply and as if not her problem and said other store do this as well. Jim Carlson took the time to try to look for me on my 3 dead debit cards, which I appreciated since the first Mgr said he couldn't do anything else, would tell me the same thing she said, and wouldn't be able to help me further-(though he did try to. )but then Jim made the comments about the apron. Jim also said if I found the receipt or bank statement(?) ( which wouldn't show the exact item) he could help me then. When I said oh-ok, them I look through my huge box of receipts, he seemed to back track a bit and said he would see if he could help me. Frustrating experience all the way around.

CLEAN STORE AND FRIENDLY PERSONEL,READY TO HELP WITH ANYTHING.

Overall the Schaumburg store is very efficient and organized. Sometimes when busy it can be hard to get someone to help you. Larry the checkout person today was very quick and friendly. I was on my lunch hour and I really appreciated his efficiency.

I am not the most knowledge able person in terms of electrical work but went in to store with some questions. Store associate Ron in the electrical department was able to assist me 2 times in the same day. In my opinion a associates like him make the store and make me want to come back. Thanks alot for your help Ron!!!!!!!!!!

an employee busy restocking went out of his way to help me with a small project and suggested numerous ideas on how to fix my problem which I ended up finishing using one of his suggestions. He took the time, about half an hour to assist us. thanks.

I like this store and this is one of my primary source of my home accessories shopping. Location is convenient for resident who lives in Schaumburg as well as hoffman estates and streamwood

I went to store to buy one thing and ended up buying more stuff do to the great prices

The store was very clean and the check-out process smooth. However, the store was short-staffed in the flooring department. In the lighting department, fixtures were out of stock and we were not given the opportunity to place what we wanted on hold when it did finally get re-stocked. When we go in the next time, they could be sold out again. There should be a way to pay for it upfront and have the store hold the item(s) for you when they are available.

Most knowledgeable person in gardening in any big box store I have ever been to. Better than most so called professionals

RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO EVERYONE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR EVERYTHING YOU NEED, YOU WILL FIND IT AT THIS STORE.

In my line of work, I visit various home improvement stores at least 4 times a week. I always prefer Home Depot if there is one nearby because the associates out on the floor do something very important that other chains don't seem to do as well. If they don't know where to find the item I need, rather than wandering around aimlessly looking for it themselves which I could do just as well, they seek out help from someone else who can. There always seems to be at least one "go-to" person in the store at all times who can really solve a problem or help the other associates with customer questions. This saves me time and hassle while at other chains, I feel much more on my own when looking around the store for items.

The paint mixing employee was incredibly helpful. We bought the wrong paint the previous day and mixed a color we were not satisfied with. We went back and not even asking for a refund, the employee told us he would get us a store credit after we told him we got the wrong paint and color. He was under no obligation to get us a store credit, but was nice enough to get us the right paint and credit us the old one, which Home Depot would not be able to use anymore. Excellent job from the paint department!
