I’m writing this letter today, to say “thank you” to some special employees at your store in Glendale Heights, IL. In January of this year, our family began a home improvement project. This project spanned over several months and many, many trips to your store. We ordered everything from flooring to carpet, paint, countertops, baseboards and shelving, appliances, sinks, mirrors, blinds, and light fixtures. I don’t think there was a room in that condo, or a department in your store, that we missed. I personally dealt with John (the Operations Manager) more days than I can remember. I’m not sure when his days off were, or what his shift actually was, because there wasn’t a day that I was there, and he wasn’t. John was tireless and always eager to help. One day specifically, he personally led me around that store and single-handedly loaded sinks, cabinets, faucets, light fixtures, and all bathroom hardware onto several carts, saving me unbelievable amounts of time. Over and over John repeated “what else Sarah?” and led me to every single item on my list! AJ and Frank were favorites in flooring. They handled every change I threw their way with complete patience and kindness. We replaced every inch of flooring in the condo and these guys were involved in each and every decision we made. Even when the baseboards threw us a curveball, they stayed on top of everything and got us what we needed. Frank personally delivered additional supplies to keep us on schedule. The scheduling was grueling; flooring first, then the baseboards, next the carpet, countertops, and appliances to follow…Frank and AJ kept everything on track! Joe in the kitchen department was a key player as well. Thank you, Joe, for making that special call to the financing department to save me a $100 savings bonus. Vito in appliances was my “go to guy” in the store (although he did come through with a quick delivery on a washer/dryer that I wasn’t originally planning on purchasing). Vito greeted me almost daily with my list in hand. He saved me hours of wandering around, searching for items like: closet knobs, exhaust fan covers, outdoor mats, brackets, toilet seats, joint compound, light bulbs, and millions of other small but important needs. One day I came in with some toilet screws which needed replacing. They were washed and wrapped in a small paper towel. Vito took a look, led me to those screws in store and then immediately over to the hand sanitizer! Thank you, Vito, for smiling each morning you saw me and asking, “what are we getting today, Sarah?” A big thank you to Stefano, who acted like my personal concierge! Stefano dealt with any/all issues that arose from your third-party vendors (and believe me, there were quite a few!). His customer service was exceptional, bar-none. Please know, there were so many other helpful and kind employees that crossed my path during my time in your store. I was grateful to everyone who guided, directed, listened, and always smiled. Home improvement was never my specialty (still isn’t), but your team over there made it an enjoyable experience. Thanks Home Depot Glendale Heights! Sarah D.
