Can I use this tarp to cover supplies in an open trailer and drive 2,000 miles or should I buy a canvas tarp?

Asked by: Mart
I would think it depends on the trailer and how you wrapped your cargo. if exposed to 60mph winds for 2000 miles anything can happen. But tied down right I would expect it would make the trip.

I live in a rural area, and use them to cover wood, my woodsheds, splitting wood; and for painting as a dropcloth. I have been very pleased with the durability of this product. Each tarp lasts for roughly 3 years of continuous use to cover wood. The grommets are evenly spaced throughout the sides making it easy to connect bungee cords to keep the tarp in place.

Be extremely careful when buying an Everbilt tarp because Home Depot will not honor products which were mislabeled by the Mfgr.. I bought four (4) of these to cover a lumber rack and all were deployed at the exact same time and manner. All were exposed to same conditions as well. ALL WERE LABELED EXACTLY THE SAME but one (1) of them was a slightly lighter color. Five (5) months later three (3) of these tarps are holding up just fine but the off-color one has almost completely disintegrated. Home Depot says it needed to fail within their 90 day return window in order for them to replace/refund. All they were willing to do is give me the number to the manufacturer. No luck there either. I personally feel Home Depot should use their influence to ensure their vendors accurately label their products. See photo and judge for yourself. Disappointed in both companies for not supporting an obvious flaw.

We used the 6 uprights that held the net on an old trampoline and the connectors at the top to make a 6X8 enclosure to put the lawn mower and carts. The base of the 6 poles are in concrete and we put patio blocks on the floor. We tucked it in a corner next to the house on one end and a woodshed on one side. We added some support to the top so the tarp wouldn't sag and used the tarp to cover the top and one exposed side, leaving the front open. The tarp seems to be tough enough to do the job. This seems to be an inexpensive alternative to a more expensive enclosure--plus we re-purposed the trampoline top.

I folded the tarp in half and put it over the door and base, then set bricks and heavy stones around the edges. We have had a lot of rain since then, and not a single drop of it has come in through the basement door. The color of the tarp blends in with the house and surroundings. Next year's spring thaw will be the ultimate test, but so far it is doing the job.
