Wish I had bought one with more blades
This pushes air down a good bit more than the ac motor fan I replaced on patio. But out to the side 6 feet and I can only feel it on my ankles. Do multi blades push air side ways as well as down? IT IS Very QUIET, which was main goal. I REALLY WISH I’d understood about this air column effect -it’s on my ankles here - need it on my torso & face! Also - I recommend attaching blades with unit on floor - if you wait to the last, you have to do it from below while someone else holds the blade.

This indoor outdoor fan is really nice looking. The blades are made out of what seems to be a type of plastic, which is good for an outdoor fan. It is controlled by a remote so there isn't a pull chain to turn it on and off. You can reverse the fan motor for hot weather and cold weather with the remote. The light is controlled by the remote also. There are 6 different fan speeds and the light will change dimness by pressing the button on the remote. The longer you press the button the dimmer the light will go. I really like this fan. It runs smoothly and the light is bright.

I'm installing this on a large outdoor balcony patio. It's about 30'x10'. I've been looking for a sharp looking "outdoor" fan for nearly a year. My neighbor across the street has an outdoor fan with drooping blades, I knew I had to find some sort of composite blade not made of pressed wood. And it's going to be installed in the Phoenix heat (was 118 in the shade yesterday) so a I need metal construction and no plastic, which will literally melt or deform. Because of the space is large, I wanted a fan larger than the typical 52" fan; this is 54" so technically it meets my requirements. As I looked at fans in HD, so many had cheap flat pressed wood blades. Which might be fine for indoors, but it won't cut it outdoors. I found most of the Aire Minka fans had interesting styles with more rugged composite curved blades. The other feature of this fan that I really liked was it is 6 speed rather than your mor typical 3. And it has a remote (with holder), which for me putting this where a light alone was is a benefit (not wired for 2 switches). And it can obviously be place outdoors, as it's rated for Indoor/Outdoor damp conditions. I decided to use my photos to show the unboxing, what each of the pieces look like, as I could not find a picture of the wiring harness or remote anywhere. So the first images shows the blade construction, thickness and bend in the blade. The next the hanging ball and harness that's installed in the ceiling, the pole extends down about 4". Next is the motor, which is surprisingly light, less than 5 lbs, the new DC motors are such a big departure from the old heavy wound core motors of yesteryear, all of which weighted well over 20+lbs and used so much more power. The were so hard to hang alone. The DC motor of the Kava can easily be managed/Installed alone. The next is the LED module and shade, it consists of 24 dimmable surface mounted LED's (20 watt ~1200lum). I do wish the lens was glass, not plastic, but it will point down and not be exposed to sunlight. The n the six speed remote, which also allows you to change the fans direction from the remote (unusual feature). And finally the electrical harness; 3 wires in, 5 wires out, all color coded, simple to hook up. The fan looks great, and on high it moves a lot of air, on the edges of my patio I can "feel the breeze", even on 4; on 6 is more of a wind. The light gets very bright, I've mounted the remote on the way out the door to the patio. Installation was easy alone, but I've installed many fans, the light weight of the motor made it really easy. The fans blades are perfectly balanced, the fan spins nearly silent 1-4; with 5 & 6 raising some air movement noise. But no vibrations at all even on high. So far I very pleased with the looks and features of this fan; I expect it to perform well for years to come.

This 3 blades, modern indoor/outdoor ceiling fan with oil rubbed bronze finish is powerful and with its quiet energy saving DC motor provides superior cooling airflow up to 5255 CFMs. The fan features a very bright integrated 20- WATT LED light which is also dimmable. Installation was a breeze, took me about 30 minutes to assemble and install it. The fan also came with a 6-speed remote for ease of control. Totally love this fan and highly recommend it.

Aire's Kava 54" integrated LED ceiling fan with light is exceptionally well-made and very attractive in the outdoor setting where it was installed, and it fully met my expectations for an outdoor ceiling fan that could be installed near my grill to eliminate lingering smoke and provide lighting after dark. As far as installation goes, it was tedious and not as simple as other ceiling fans that I've installed. But, overall, the product is outstanding in terms of appearance and quality. I liked the fact that the fan blades are made of a solid composite-type material rather than the pressed cardboard typical of so many other fans, and the blades are easy to install. It's also convenient that the light can be dimmed and brightened very easily via a remote which also controls the the fan's speed and direction. I also really liked the fact that the remote control arrived in a harness that can be mounted on the wall near the fan.

I really like the look of this ceiling fan. It has a modern~funky~artistic look to it, as opposed to so many that look like they belong in granny's country cottage. The light is LED, no bulbs to change, a HUGE plus. Its dimmable up & down as opposed to having to settle for an unchangeable default brightness.. Six fan speeds to meet your every possible need from "just a light breeze that won't ruffle my papers" to "Intense air circulation with hair ruffling". Light and fan speed all done with remote control! No more dangling chains that get in your way or are hard to reach. You don't have to get up to change the speed or dim the light. My only complaint about this fan was the difficulty of installation. 8 wires to connect, so many small screws all to be screwed in while standing on a ladder, trying to hold a blade in place while finding a small hole and getting the screw in. Once assembled I was thrilled with the finished product but it did take me several hours to install and I consider myself to be quite ''handy''

This fan is replacing two 42-inch fans that area about 15 years old and that’s a long time for outdoor fans to be in service. My installation was complicated by having to cut a hole and fish new wiring to the central location on the covered porch ceiling. Once that was complete, it still took me longer than usual to install this fan. I have probably installed 10 ceiling fans over the past several years. The extra time came about because of the crowded wiring in the canopy and the attachment of the fan blades that proved a bit trickier than usual, but this goes easily if you have someone to hold the blades in place while you insert the screws. The finish is attractive on all pieces and the look is clean and modern. The blades do not have a cheap, shiny plastic appearance or feel for that matter. The light kit emits an uniform light. The remote features six fan speeds versus the more common three speeds found on many fans although I am not sure this is a major feature. Operation is very quiet. Since it is spring and that we still has not had any hot weather, I can’t say just how well this fan provides a cooling effect on the 12 x 12 covered deck where it is installed. Don’t confuse this with the Minka Aire “Java” fan that is more expensive. There is at least one mistake in the description on the Home Depot product page that states “5 blades”, which should be corrected. If there are only two wires, hot and neutral, to your existing ceiling fan you can still have separate control of the fan and light since the receiver distributes the power to the fan & light separately via the remote control.

Cannot feel air movement except directly under it.
This is my 2nd season. The fan is on a screened in porch. I REALLY WISH there were a way to modify the fan blades to send the air sideways and down But ALL the air goes straight down. Unless I’m sitting right under the fan, I feel almost no airflow - EXCEPT down around my ankles and shins. Is it because of the blade curvature? Or the fact that there are three screened in walls? Great looking fan - quiet - smooth. Just not effective.
