About This Product

FLEX-Drain helps you get the job done faster and easier, with professional-grade durability and more versatility than traditional corrugated pipes. Flexible and expandable, FLEX-Drain easily bends around any obstacle, holds its shape during installation and with a simple snap, its integrated soil-tight fittings lock securely and stay connected during backfilling. With this product, taping joints becomes unnecessary while the pipes' spaced slits, covered by a removable polyester sock, make the product ideal for french drain in fine soil. The sock allows filtration where there is considerable debris, sand or fine soil making the FLEX-Drain a complete drainage solution system that's widely compatible with virtually all traditional 3 in. x 4 in. corrugated pipe and 4 in. PVC. Technologically superior, it's made with no-break copolymers and exceeds all applicable ASTM crush standards.

This Is Not Pipe! Nor Does It Drain!
This product does exactly the opposite of what it is suppose to do. It has holes on all sides of the pipe so when water enter the pipe it immediately leaves the pipe at the next hole. If you want to waste your money with useless plastic buried in your yard this is it. Other than that, get a real french drain other than this product.

    No holes
Approximately 1/3 of mine had no holes. If i wanted solid pipe I would have ordered solid pipe

This product is not the industry standard perforated drain pipe. It more closely resembles the pull to stretch plastic pipes that come with above ground swimming pools (inflatable ring type) to connect to the filter pump. It is not able to withstand collapsing under heavy materials back fill of say gravel or sand. However, if you are making a self wicking garden bed and topping with lightweight potting soil and peat, then this product will work at the bottom of your reservoir to make a for the water, a 50' fully expanded piece can fit into an 96"x30" bed. Be sure to expand it fully by pulling from both ends and then do the same with the sock and sew the two pieces together in order to be able to make it stretch to about 45' of the length and hold it in place with zip ties every 5' or less. then supported it from being crushed by the spoil by adding galvanized supports (1/2" conduit fabricated to the 30" width. The sock serves as the wicking barrier to keep the soil out of the water and allows the water to wick into the soil. I would give it a 4.5 starts for a wicking bed application but for outside drainage it would be a failure under most conditions. Home depot, move this product to your garden section and market it for self wicking beds do it yourself projects and give citation to your source.
