Q:The one example of this wall covering shown appears to be a mint or light green and possibly another color paint. I'm sure this is so that the detail is visible. Are there any how to videos on You Tube to show how this result was obtained.

A: The wall covering is white and can be painted. While I haven’t used this on a wall, I have used this product on the back wall of a cabinet, on a wood tray, and a number of other projects. I apply the wall covering and let it dry. Then do whatever paint technique I want. I’ve painted, added a diluted paint wash, and even applied multiple layers of a glossy clear coat (depending on where I was using the wall covering), and it has held up beautifully.

A: Yes – wallpaper can be a great way to cover up dated wood paneling and/or renew the look of a room. However, you will need to prepare the paneled walls first. The grooves need to be filled in with caulk. If the grooves are deeper than ¼” you may need to hang a wallpaper liner vertically before hanging your wallpaper. The paneling should also be primed with a stain-blocking latex primer before hanging your wallpaper.

A: One smallest square is 5"x 5" and 4 squares is ~10.25" square. The pattern is so repeatable that there is hardly any waste. The largest square is ~20". Hope this helps.

Unrealistic expectation
My unrealistic expectation was to wallpaper my fissured ceiling tile creating an elegant appearance from very commercial looking tiles. We inherited ceiling tiles when we bought the house and decided that we'll purchase this and adhere it to the tiles. I bought wallpaper adhesive just in case it was needed and boy was it needed. I assumed that adhering to the tiles would pose some challenge but never did I think that the adhesive from the wallpaper would be so bad. Anyway, I have quite a few tiles that have bubbled up. FYI, I mostly used the back of the fissured tiles and while that worked better it wasn't perfect. Apparently, the best way to apply this wallpaper to fissured ceiling tiles is to keep the wallpaper dry and apply lots of wallpaper glue. Then, paint the tile. I used a metallic gold spray paint and that turned out really nice and hides any imperfection. I wish my basement didn't have a drop ceiling but since the ceiling is pretty high it worked out OK. I wish that someone would design a pattern for drop ceilings because you end up wasting a lot of material and it doesn't quite line up well. Overall, I give it a 4 which is quite generous because it was time consuming for drop ceiling application but that's not what it's intended for. I would give it a 2 or 3 if I had the same bubbling issues applying it to a finished ceiling. Since I didn't apply it to a finished ceiling then I'll be nice. My last suggestion is to definitely paint it! Try silver, gold or other metallic paints because THAT makes the difference. I haven't completed the ceiling because we decided that I needed to pull down all the peeling tiles and stick them with adhesive. Painting was an after thought and if I had to do it over again I would have painted. Once I finish painting all the tiles I'll re-post the images. When I bought this, there was only one review so I'm glad to see more. Take my advice and some of the other reviewers advice and avoid the self adhesive and use glue and scissors.

Very pleased!
I am currently remodeling my 1900's kitchen on a very tight budget. My kitchen ceiling had popcorn that I scraped off & was trying to decide what to do next. Initially, I thought I would be plastering. Then I found this at Home Depot. I am sooo glad I did. The results are wonderful. My ceiling is a bit uneven and has cracks. After smoothing over the ceiling with plaster and primer, I put this paintable wallpaper up & it did a great job at smoothing out the surface, as well as providing a wonderful faux ceiling tin look. Perfect for my old kitchen! You will likely need to purchas wallpaper paste, even though the wallpaper is prepasted. It just helps to seal in the corners and edges. Also, cut and measure before you wet the paper. This wallpaper is difficult to cut once it is wet. I think I just might do my daughter's room, now. Love it!

I used this product in my rv, to spruce it up and to hide imperfections. It works great for that! It is a little difficult to use though. The repeat is super hard to find. The manufacturer should mark it on the back of the roll. It is also difficult to trim. Allow it to almost dry, then use a SHARP blade! Hard to work with but does the job. I haven't painted it yet.
