We've trusted the Briggs & Stratton name for many, many years and this little Inverter Generator didn't disappoint! The control panel is pretty intuitive, easy to read, and well laid out. This generator is fairly small, so it's easily portable (unlike the whole house generator we have). Yes, it's obvious when the generator is running but not painfully loud. We had a predicted ice storm incoming so fired this little beast up to check it out to insure we'd have power in our pole barn. Fired right up and smoothed out quickly. We thought it was a little bonus to find oil and a funnel enclosed with the Generator. Good job, Briggs & Stratton! Keep in mind, it's a small unit so trying to run a large fridge, for example, might push its limits, but it would be good for lights, air compressor, fans, electric garage doors, and the like. By the way, the ice storm wimped out and we never lost power. Still nice to not worry about such an occurrence. We've been without power for days at a time and would prefer no repeats of that experience, hence the whole house generator.

Unboxing and getting the generator ready to go are easy as it includes a bottle of oil for the engine. There is a little tray around the gas fill nozzle to catch any spilled gas and make sure it doesn't damage any sensitive electronics. Any spilled fuel drains relatively safely out a little spout on the side. The startup sequence is very user friendly. The knob on the side integrates the cold start and run features normally found on a carburetor choke while also adding the off switch. No need to touch a carburetor choke and risk getting oily fingers. The pull start is easy and smooth to pull, far easier than a mower and even easier than some weed whackers I'd say due to the engine smoothness. At idle the quiet chirps almost sound like a spaceship from the Jetsons®, that along with the blue LED indicator lights make it seem like a futuristic generator that is more computer than noisy combustion engine. Under load the engine revs up and the noise increases but it's still impressively quiet and you can hear yourself think. While I intend to use this for camping on occasion I wanted to test its capabilities as a job-site tool also. I plugged in my Dewalt battery charger to charge the battery for my power tools while using a high amp circular saw to cut 2x4s. The saw needed an extra second or two to get up to speed compared to AC mains power while the generator quickly revved up. Once revved up the generator was able to hold the power needed to cut easily. I also checked the amperage of the refrigerator. The B&S Generator can power it. Documentation indicates that the generator can safely power digital circuits. This gives me peace of mind when stocking up on perishable goods. The dual handles are a good spot to run a lock through to secure it from theft if you lose power overnight and have to leave it running outside. Overall I am very impressed with this quiet and clean generator that is heavy duty enough to meet my portable and backup power consumption needs.

Very nice stylish generator. This unit started on the first pull....selected cold start as I assume this is basically the choke. Found one loose clamp on the fuel line but was quickly fixed..yes I had leaking gas. The generator really operated well under load and quickly picks up the new load point. I also can attest to being able to have a conversation with another person while standing right next to the running unit. I read that it has a 62 dB noise rating. Has LED lights for trouble; low oil, overload, and also LED for output. Has two USB ports to charge your phones, 2 X 120V/20 amp outlets. Parallel port so two units could be used for added wattage. I tested the econ mode and the unit picked up load almost immediately from a low idle. Using the ECON mode would definitely extend run time of a tank of gas. This unit also has CO Guard which would shutdown the unit if too much Carbon Monoxide was detected in the area of the Generator. This unit is for outdoor use only. Is furnished with oil and a long funnel for oil fill. Last but not least are two resets, one for the electrical outlet and one for the parallel mode. I would strongly recommend this generator.

Description is wrong
This is a very good reliable generator. The description on this item says it has a 12volt DC outlet accessory for battery charging. It DOES NOT have this accessory feature. Look at picture closely. There is no DC plug outlet shown.
