Questions & Answers

What kind of switch I has to put on this?
ByJan 26, 2019
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

If you are wanting the fan and light to operate separately, use the 68W switch. If you want them to operate together, any single gang switch will work.

I have 3" existing duct work installed. Would it be better to use a fan with a 4" outlet vs this 6" model?
    ByJan 12, 2019
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Absolutely! We strongly advise against connecting this fan to 3" duct.

How much is the exhaust flow reduced if a 4in. x 8 ft. duct is used?
          ByApr 6, 2018
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Although we do not recommend using 4 inch duct on this fan, the exhaust flow should remain at 110 CFM’s if using rigid duct with no bends. However, the sone level will louder than the 0.7 sones advertised due to the restricted airflow.

Can this be run without all the timers and humidity sensors? Just as a standard ON/OFF from a wall switch?

            Answer This Question

My licensed electrician installed it with a standard on/off switch and it works. So, i’d say yes.

            By|May 5, 2023

Yes, this product may be run manually from a wall switch bypassing the auto function with sensors and timers.

You may want to consider getting a unit that does not have the sensors. You may want to review the Operation sections on the installation instructions (page 1). Or, you should contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151. Thank you.

Yes, you have two switches, both OFF turns it off and both ON turns it on. One on and one off is the automatic sensor.

Can I replace old QT-110N-B with this one?
                      ByJan 22, 2017

                      Answer This Question

The QTXEN110H is not a direct replacement for the QT110N-B. You will need to remove the existing metal can/housing and may have to adjust the rough opening. Please contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151 for more detailed installation assistance.

What is the difference between the QTX series fans and QTXEN series? The specs appear to be the same.

                        Answer This Question

These two fans are the same. They are both exhaust fans only, both have humidity sensors, and both have the same housing size. Thank you.

                          Extremely quiet. Functions as promised.
The fan works excellent. I used a 6 inch insulated duct running 5 foot 9 inches to the side wall of the house. It is a straight run with no elbows. The air existing the house was 14.2 mph with precision equipment used in testing and CFM was 121.2 recorded over a 30 minute test. These numbers will vary in individual applications depending on many factors. Elbows and reducers will lower these numbers. The straightest duct line and keeping 6 inch duct throughout is the best. There are two switch options available. You may use a standard light switch using the term cycling in which you flip the switch more than once to change function from automatic to on/off function. You may also purchase a switch listed in the owners manual to avoid the "cycling" of a standard switch. The automatic humidity function works very well with no moisture on the mirrors at any time. It is nice to have the fan shut off on its own, while keeping a great control on humidity. There was not an owners manual in the carton, however it was a mixed blessing. I went to their website and was quite impressed at the variety of items they have, as well as the ease of printing a manual. The manual has English and Spanish separate which is nice. The damper is plastic and has clips to facilitate the correct orientation of the damper. There was zero air escaping around the damper with an unobstructed 6 inch duct, however some air can escape where it attaches to the vent itself it reducing to 4 inch duct. The escaping air can be eliminated with a silicone caulk if you are concerned. If using 6 inch duct which I recommended, you are good to go!

I was not able to install this fan. It has a flange on the bottom that makes it a mess to install unless for new construction. So, the drywall would have to be cut slightly larger than the fan to fit the unit, which would make for a sloppy job.

Oveall this is a quality fan at a fair price. Very quite and the auto humidity sensing is a nice feature. Retrofitting into an existing hole is challenging and not really suited for 'in the box' homeowner installs. Too bad they don't make one with cut-in-style anchors like outlet boxes and provisions for alternet electrical entry points into the fan box.Yes, I will purchase this fan again

The meaning of Very Quiet seems to differ from my own, I thought you would not be able to hear it, or at best just a minor hum. But very quiet seems to mean "you can hear it while in the bathroom, but not outside the room even when the door is open" Overall it's small size gets the job done.

Just been installed; runs really QUIET - FINALLY one that is really quiet! Almost forget to shut it off. Like the fact that it has humidity sensing too. If you want a quiet, efficient bathroom fan this one is definitely recommended.
