Can this be used for flooring in Kitchen? What is the water resistance?

I've had it in my kitchen for 18 years and looks as good as new.

What are dimensions of the 20sq.ft case.
Asked by: HA
84.25 x 9.5 x 3.2. And this is a big problem, because that valume only measures about 17 square feet, not 20. And what's worse, if you stand the box up on end and bump it up and down, you can open the top a bit and see the pieces don't even fill the whole box. Which made sense to me after i did 737 square feet of floor and it took 780 according to the boxes. There was NO WAY we wasted 43 square feet! The only thing that made sense is i didn't get the 780 i paid for. get ready for a class action suit...

Bruce American Originals Natural Oak 3/4 in. T x 3-1/4 in. W x Varying L Solid Hardwood Flooring (352 sq. ft. / pallet) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 476.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bruce - 3/4", 5" wide Oak Hardwood Flooring This is not a DIY product! In an effort to help my wife's allergies I wanted to remove the remaining carpet from the living area of our home. I purchased almost $3000 dollars worth of this product and the materials necessary to install. I read all the instructions including the PDF download from Bruce. The instructions for a southern climate required it be glued and nailed down. I purchased the specific glue from another source because HD did not carry it. The Oak boards were in my home for almost 2 full weeks prior to installation to allow them to adjust to interior conditions. Our home stays at approximately 50% humidity year round with the uses of humidifiers and our central heat and air system. Not only have the 5" wide wood boards cupped the floor actually has a huge hump in a couple of places. I called HD for help and they call Bruce and Bruce said it was an installation issue, not their problem. Because its been longer than 90 days HD won't do anything.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look over EVERY Piece I purchased 27 boxes of this flooring. So far I have finished 3 of the four rooms of the planned installation. I am very pleased with the look and feel but I do offer this advice. You MUST look over every piece prior to nailing it! Every single box I opened (21 so far) has had some flawed wood in it. By flawed I mean tongues damaged (this is the most prevalent defect). Some of the longer boards have been slightly warped. Now I lay each long board on its long edge to see if any daylight appears underneath. More often than not, the longer boards are unusable on the main floor. I have to save them for the closet where I can get away with a small gap. The video on HDs website says 75 QA checks. Ha! I don’t believe that for a second given the large amount of defects found. At this price point of over$100 a box, I would expect better quality and be able to install almost every board. Had I purchased this hardwood at Walmart, I would expect this lack of quality.

A lot of work. I had so many long pieces I didn't know what to do with them! Each box probably had 8 pieces of 50 inches or longer. There were maybe 8 pieces ~12 inches, and the remaining were in between in graduated lengths. The finish was smooth and consistent among boxes. I had about one "bad" board per box, but I set them aside of the closet. Not a big deal, my wife's clothes won't mind. Lastly, I had some bowed boards, all wood with bow or warp, not sure why it's a shock for some. Using the slotted screwdriver I would hammer it into the sub-floor opposite the gap and pry the boards together to bring the groove into the tongue. It was like twister trying to pull the screwdriver with my foot while holding onto the nailer with one hand and the hammer with another. An extremely useful tool is Red Devil Scrape n' Pry Bar or any similar pry bar. You can use it close gaps between board ends, pry lightly against the wall or baseboard, and it's great for getting the ripped pieces in place. None of the boards were bowed enough for the scrap pile. I think I had about 5% waste. As we purchased 15, installed 13.

We put in over 1200 sq feet on our first floor in two separate installations with the same Crew 2 installers. Out of almost 70 boxes we had minimal problems with bad boards. Two orders made months apart and the wood was consistent in color and quality. We could not be happier with the end result nor the thoroughness and conscientiousness of the installers. Highly recommend this product and the company Home Depot contracted to install it (Crew 2).

The material reject rate for both shipments for me ran about 20%, of which Home Depot only covered their standard rate of 7%. In addition, the poor quality of the material also effected installation, which resulted in a claim to Home Depot which they also would not cover. I would have to say that the money saved by using this vendor and the Home Depot chosen installer is not worth the months of hassle I have had with both of them

We got the Barista Brown Oak color which went nicely with the white trim work. You can also find the matching corner round and trim pieces on Home Depot online as well. We had about 2/3 box of bad pieces out of 8 boxes of flooring. This is a our first wood flooring project. We used approx. 2000 nails for 224 sq ft. The kids have dropped toys and what not on the flooring and no dents or scratches yet.

Majorly warped pieces that could not be used, tongue was split off on a large number of pieces, cracks and ma imperfections were found throughout. I found at least 25% of the product unusable. This forced my project to be behind schedule while i wait for replacement.

After 2 weeks they all seems to expand and fit more smoothly and the edges are not so noticeable. Otherworldly we were extremely pleased and The waste was far less than expected, too.
