Best grill ever..and I've owned plenty
I recently purchased the four-burner model. We cook outside 3-4 times per week. I have had this grill for two weeks and have cooked many different meats on it. I prefer to cook larger cuts and poultry slow and at lower temperatures to preserve moisture and tenderness. The indirect heat feature of this grill and the fact that the dripping fat does not touch flame allow absolute control of the temperature. Only by human error will this grill flare up. Do not, let that indirect heat thing fool you. This baby gets hot quickly. Steaks, burgers, and dogs all end up with that "char-stripe."
The key to success with this grill is keeping it clean. It needs better hygiene practices than your normal direct heat grill. Although it has a self-cleaning feature, I hate wasting the gas and the effects of the high heat. The pans and porcelain covered grates are easy enough to remove and just as easy to clean. I simply hose them off and wash with soap and water. The grates fit nicely in the dishwasher.
The side burner is as good as one would want. Burner is not quite up for a 3-gallon deep fryer, but handles bacon, eggs, hot cakes, skillet beans, pan fried steaks and light frying with ease.
Only downside is that there is no place to add a few wood chips for some smoke flavor. I'm not a big fan of heavy smoke anyway, so that's not an issue.
I had mine delivered to my home in a big box and assembled it during a Monday night football game. Cooked a bacon sandwich for midnight snack. Picture instructions are adequate for the novice and few tools are required. You know that coffee can in your workshop with the extra screws?? Have it handy as well. You will need a few. Hey, I saved fifty bucks and it was a boring game.
Just get the grill and don't scrimp. Get the four-burner. Your friends will love you for it.

Best Grill I've Ever Owned
I love to grill, however I have had concerns over carcinogens created by cooking over an open flame. I'm a cancer survivor and do what I can to reduce the risks. I've looked at infra-red as an option, but past models require constant cleaning or the tiny holes clog up and seriously affect performance.
This grill has two concave metal plates that sit on top of the flames and redistribute the heat and thereby eliminating carcinogens created by the open fire. My biggest worry was that this would make my food taste less grilled and more like it was cooked in a pan. It doesn't! I've had the grill for almost a month and cook on it almost every day.
It does sometimes get a little smokey as the fat drips and collects in these metal plates, but I've only had one flare-up so far. Because of that I can be a little less attentive to the grill without getting "crunchies" on the burgers as my kids call the sizzled parts!
I'd recommend taking off the grates and clearing out the residue from the plates every few uses. It cuts down on the smoke and takes all of 30 seconds.
Couldn't recommend this grill more!

Awesome!
This grill is worth every penny!! We had to put it together and that took time. Instructions were well written.
Now, we have grill chicken wings, burgers, streaks, scallops, shrimp... Today I put hickory chips on one side and chicken on the other and it was awesome!!!! Juicy inside and crispy skin on the outside!! Buy this grill and you won't be sorry.

In A Word, Superb!
I purchased this grill on Memorial Day weekend and have used it now a dozen times. So far I have grilled steaks, ribs, pork chops, chicken and of course some hot dogs and burgers. I can honestly say this is, without question, the best grill I have ever cooked on. This infra red technology takes a little getting used to, mainly because this grill gets incredibly hot. Even when you cut down on the burners this thing will still get up over 500 degrees. But you will definitely taste the difference in everything you cook. Meats are much more juicy and there are no hot spots or flare ups! If you enjoy smoking meats, as I am doing in the photos, this thing is the best. Just drop the wood chips in the troughs under the grill plates. No need for a smoker box.
The construction of this grill seems to be pretty solid. The grill plates are coated porcelain, not metal so it seems like they will last. If you coat them prior to cooking with a high heat oil like canola, they clean up pretty easily. The storage space underneath is also a plus. I assembled this myself in about two hours with just a couple of Phillips head screwdrivers.
In summary let me say that the bottom line with any grill is how well it cooks, cleans and lasts. This can't cook any better, cleaning so far has been a snap, and with a good cover and proper maintenance this should last many years. I highly recommend this to anyone!

stainless steel that will rust
purchase may 2012, used 8 times, (covered grill, was not exposed to any bad weather). When I opened up grill this may 2013 it was covered in rust, attempted to clean myself, stainless cleaner, soft scrub, etc. contacted Char-Broil who requested photos of rust, after one week they replied stating that the rust is not "RUST-THRU" which means you cant poke your finger thru it yet. They offered me a BIO cleaner which they stated would not remove the rust to which I refused. This is a CHEAP LOW GRADE STAINLESS STEEL GRILL WHICH WILL RUST, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Great BBQ Grill
I have owned a charcoal grill, gas grill, and now this infraRED grill and i have to say i have never been happier! This is by far the best grill i have ever bought, i love it! My 16 yr old nephew and myself assembled it on a Saturday took roughly 3 hours, well worth it though. Next day we fired it up and OMG! was i impressed on how well the food came out. It does what it says, the food came out really juicy was not dry at all, the heat was nicely evenly through out. Love the stainless steel look. I would recommend this grill to everyone in my family. For my birthday (2) days after we assembled it, instead of going out to dinner i invited my family for some BBQ slabs of pork baby back ribs and corn cob. Was much better than going out to dinner. I was so impressed how i had no flame flair ups, and how well the ribs came out again they came out so juicy. If you are looking for a great grill for your patio i would say get this one. I have no complaints at all. Your food will come out Great!

GREAT GRILLING/POOR WARRENTTY-SERVICE/ALL PARTS MADE IN CHINA
This product grills great. But the downfall since the purchase almost 2 years ago is that replacing parts under warranty has been a joke! I made a claim on 11-28-12 for the front control panel (decals coming off from heat) and to this date (almost 6 months) I STILL DO NOT HAVE PART. Come to find out that ALL PARTS are made in CHINA and a act of congress to get in. Which means that ALL IS MADE IN CHINA. This day and age is important to buy American (since I live here) and what Items are made in USA NEVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM. As of this make and product, I will never buy again, will find another make with better credentials (look into next time). And the warranty is really difficult because it is broken in time frames on what is covered. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING TO ANYONE OR WISH THIS ON ANYONE. Maybe before 11-28-13 I will finally get my part.

better than your average grille
I have only used my new grille 4 times but I feel in this short amount of time it warranted a review ! One of high praise. It does deliver on it's promise of mainting the natural juices in your meats after they have been cooked which I found to be very impressive and tasty. It did take some getting used to the temperature setting ie. at what temperature, and for how long do you cook different types of meats. Although my last grille was also a Char-Broil, the temperature setting for cooking meats, and times varied greatly from my old ones. The new grille seems to cook bulky meats like thick home made burgers and thick rib eye steaks much faster while maintaining it's promise of keeping your meats juicy and moist. You will not be disappointed ! It's an impressive looking grille even my mother, sisters, and wife felt it was and they normally could careless. It's not a cheap grille and it does n't look, feel, or operate like a cheap grille. If you have the money to spend and are looking for a better than average grille it's definitely worth the investment. One finally note I was never much for cleaning my grille outside of using a wire brush to scrape off my last cooked meal. I advise you to follow the manufactures instructions use a cooking spray to oil the grille prior to lighting the grille it will significantly make cleaning your grille easier. Actually use soap and water after each use cleaning your grille ie the grille and the tub underneath this will maintain your cooking tempts and greatly reduce grease fires in fact you will have no grease fires.
