I've installed several of this type. Your results will vary depending on the age of door/how many coats of paint it has received over the years. One thing I've found that can help is to not push the seal all the way up to the bottom of the door while sliding it on. That is, leave as much gap as possible between the bottom of the seal and bottom of the door, slide the seal into place, and once in position lever it up fully onto the door using a prybar or screwdriver.
yes. it'll work best if you can get an even edge along the bottom.
That depends on the thickness of your bathroom door, it might look a little funny on an interior door. I don't think it would help much with noise, it's main purpose is for keeping out drafts. The rubber flaps on the bottom shouldn't hurt wooden floors, because they are pretty flexible.
Yes
It just slides on. You do need to press it with a little force as it is a snug fit. I did not remove the door. You can take a hammer with a cloth over it to tap and that will help slide it onto the door base.
It will fit a 1 3/4" door but it is tight - make sure your door is exactly 1 3/4" - my door was 1.79" and I cannot get it to slide over it. It says it only seals gaps up to 3/4" - are you sure it is that big of a gap? That's a pretty huge gap to have between the bottom of your door and the threshold. This product just slips over the door so I suppose you could try to pull it down a bit but I don't think you could get it to close a gap more than 1" - maybe 1 1/4".
Yes - it is meant to be cut to size. I did not cut mine so I don't know exactly what it is like to cut but I would suggest a hacksaw or like the other guy mentioned a miter saw. I think a knife is likely to give you ragged results. Straight cut aviation snips might work well too if they are sharp and good quality.
Yes, we had to trim a small amount for our back door, as well as the interior door leading to the garage, which are smaller. It was done on a table saw to pervent ragged edges.
Compression/friction
Yes, I had bought this product before. The seal will wear in and then eventually need replaced again. That is standard for a door seal and depends on the amount of us the door gets.
