Electrician's Tool Set (22-Piece)

Opening up this package reminds me of Christmas morning. You get one tool after another, they keep on coming. You must have been good. It's sold as an electrician's tool set but these tools will be useful for a whole lot more. I think more linesman's pliers are owned by mechanics than actual linemen. And there's enough room in this nice carrying basket/tool-caddy, with its comfortable handle, to personalize it with many other tools to personalize to your own style and needs.The tool carrier also has a shoulder strap which will keep your hands free while transporting it.There's a selection of phillips and slotted screwdrivers, and a square tipped, insulated driver. There's a selection of 4 nutdrivers in the sizes most used by electricians. A needlenose and lineman's pliers. and 2 different wire strippers. Included is a device I'm unfamiliar with called a cable stripper. Perhaps it will be of use someday. The tools all have a comfortable soft handle that is slightly oversize and rubbery to provide a good grip for torque and leverage. These tools come from a company called Commercial Electric. They are labeled clearly and permanently with the company's name and their logo is etched on some of them. This is something that tells me a company stands behind and takes pride in their product. I have heard some pros and tradesmen dismiss CE tools as unworthy and other pros have defended them as decent tools that are more affordable alternatives to the high-priced elite tools. Maybe some of those guys are just tool snobs like someone who always wears designer clothing.You get a nice set in one purchase with this package. And they are certainly adequate for homeowners, diyers, handymen,and tradesmen apprentices. For a company owner a set or two on the truck wouldn't set you back an arm and a leg and your crew could get work done. With the demise of industrial arts classes in many schools a gift of this set would set teens on the course of practical experience and self-sufficiency. I am a retired industrial mechanic. I bend conduit and wire my shop at home. Also the outlets original to my house are wearing out and I have a project of replacing them with higher quality receptacles. I'll enjoy using these tools. On an amusing note there are instructions included on how to unfold the tool caddy.

This is a very nice set of tools and tool bag. The bag ships flat and the included instructions tell you how to set it up. The bag is heavy duty and can store not only the included tools but also the big center section can store hammers, drill, flashlights and other larger items or parts. The bag also has a chain to hold rolls of tape. This would be a good set for the Homeowner, DIYer or someone starting out and learning the trade. I really like the scissors that are included for cutting back cable sheaths on low voltage cables.

I love this set of electrical tools. While I might get one a little better for heavy duty professional use it is more than adequate for handyman or light pro use. Nice carry bag with plenty of inside and out pockets and open interior space for supplies like wire nuts, terminals etc. Good carrying strap and sturdy comfortable handle. I got it because it has pretty much any tool you will need. Throw in some supplies, put a measuring tape on the clip, rolls of different colored electrical tape on the holder, add a tester or two and away you go. The scissors remind me of my Dad's old Bell System pair. So far I've repaired or replaced some outlets and light fixtures.

This is a first-class tool set, with every size of screwdriver and nut driver you are likely to need, as well as some oddball ones, and very beefy pliers and cutters, all with heavy rubberized handles. The carrying case is also very nice, with a steel handle, shoulder strap, and pockets everywhere there could possibly be pockets. Lots of places to keep many small parts and fasteners. Plenty of room for additional tools, like a voltage tester, flashlight, etc.

This electrician set is awesome! Anything you need, this set has. I do a lot of home automation and changing out switches and outlets. I needed a tool set with a carrying case because I had tools all over the place. I will be adding to this set, a voltage tester and wire nuts and that’s it. There is plenty of storage for a drill and anything else you may need. I’m very impressed with the sturdiness and thickness of the fabric. I can see this lasting a very long time.

I used this tool kit for my first electrical project this past week. There was plenty of space for extra tools, like channel locks, along with a fish tape & impact wrench. It got to the point where it was a little too heavy, but still very convenient. There is a tool labeled 11 in 1, but I only find two tools or bits maybe. I think the handle unscrews, but I haven't taken the time to figure it out. None the less, this is a good addition to my tool collection & I finally have a place to store my various rolls of plastic tape.

Commercial Electric 22 Piece Electricians Tool Kit Review I’m not a pro electrician, I’m a semi-retired I.T. technician, so this review comes from that standpoint. My work isn’t limited to installing software and fixing hardware problems; it also can involve running cabling through walls and ceilings, assembling office furniture, replacing sheetrock and ceiling tiles, you name it. So the tools in this kit fit, in a large measure, what I do. The tool tote has loops/pockets inside and out, which is nice. The downside of the tote is that the two inside ends attach to the outside ends with hook ‘n loop fasteners (see photo). In the tote I received one end has a tendency to come loose. Doesn’t seem to interfere with the operation of the tote. There’s an included shoulder strap, a tape measure clip, and electrician’s tape chain. The kit being designed around the work of electricians, there are a few tools I won’t get much use out of (the cable stripper, the insulated screwdrivers) while a couple of tools that will I need (slip-joint pliers, 3/16” nut driver) weren’t included. The tote isn’t dedicated to specific tools and there’s plenty of room available for carrying other tools. I really like the handles that they’ve installed on these tools – they fit my medium-sized hands very comfortably. The top ends of the drivers are labeled, so that it’s easy to grab the right driver out of the tote without having to look at the business end. The fit and finish of the tools is good – it’s important to keep in mind the price point of this set. It’s certainly possible to spend more money on a basic collection of tools. One of my clients has given me the use of a secured area so that I don’t always have to have my gear in the back of my 4x4 when doing an office call. This tool set is going to be left there and I won’t have to worry about someone stealing a very expensive tool kit – but I’ll have a basic collection of good tools on hand when needed. For my usage these tools are more than acceptable, and they come with a 2-year limited warranty as well as the Home Depot 90-day return policy. HTH Regards, Jim

This 22-Piece Electrician's Tool Set is an excellent choice for doing your work around the house or on the job . The many tools are of great quality and can handle the work load without any problem . They all come with a solid work bag to carry them all around with . I was very impressed with the easy grip handles and the strong tips on the screwdrivers . The pliers were also made of heavy metal and will last a long time . This is not your average kit . This is a kit to get the job done over and over .
