Good value for price
Easy to assemble. As a single woman and long time homeowner, I'm accustomed to fixing/repairing small things like this on my ow. Instructions/illustrations were clear. This is the first time I've done this type of work so I did view a few DIY videos first. After removing old one, it took me about 30 mins to mount the new one, taking my time to ensure it's done correctly. Before completing full assembly, I ran a test to make sure the light came on. Proud to say a job well done.

Just Installed Today
Switched out my old unit and installed this today. The install was simple and the directions were clear. I made zero changes to my sensor settings and it’s working exactly how I intended it to work. I’d recommend this, great quality for the price. So far, so good.

Solid metal construction. Looks great in black.
Had everything needed to install. I like the fact that it came with a gasket to seal the space between the wall and fixture. It took a while to get the motion detector set properly. But, it is working and my wife is happy with it.

I installed this light with led bulbs and have had several neighbors ask me if I can do the same for them. You can set the sensor for distance and time light remains on or you can set dusk to dawn.

Difficult adjustment
Maybe it’s just me but I had a difficult time adjusting the direction of the lights as well as up and down. Also the motion sensor would not stay in place firmly so I taped it.

Hello,
The motion sensor should be held in place by the clamp screw and should need to be taped. The sensor has a ball mount on the back that snaps into a socket and then a screw on the side of that socket can be tightened to hold the sensor. If it is not able to hold the sensor please contact technical support at 1-800-858-8501.

Not as advertised
Website shows the unit has the LAMP MODE feature allowing for a SOFT setting that turns the lights on and off gradually. I like that feature and am replacing a unit that had it and purchased this product for that reason. I called both Defiant and HD and no one has any idea why the light I bought does not match the description. Even the online instructions show the LAMP MODE. So much for believing the product description. Now I'm stuck returning the light I ordered online and have to try to find a motion light that has the LAMP MODE feature. Big waste of my time.

Can't beat the price! Heck, the two LED light bulbs I purchased were more expensive than this light! Installation was a breeze. The motion sensor has really good range, and I can even work in the garden at night now if I want to.

I installed it myself within about an hour during light rain on a Saturday morning. I chose not to read the directions before I started, so I failed to put the insulator in initially. The only caution that I would offer a purchaser is to note that the ball that the motion sensor is attached to will only reinsert in the socket in One Direction. Customers will need to rotate it so that it will reinstate and then rotate it to the recommended orientation.
