How long does it last before having to add more water

Would this be effective on a night stand to cool close proximity but in a larger bedroom (20’ x 18’)?

Asked by Grewmullins June 10, 2020
1
Answer

The size of the room doesn't matter because it is only a cool breeze directed at you, it will not cool any size room.

How cold does it get and also is it more powerful than a fan?

Asked by Eva June 10, 2020
1
Answer

It doesn't get cold, it is a cool breeze. As to a fan, they are generally much larger. The breeze is not the hot air just passing by you, but is cooled by the evaporating water in the unit, better than a fan in that regard, a personal handheld fan. In the manual there is a chart that shows the temperature drop in the breeze depending on outside temperature and humidity.

Would this cool a tent while camping in the TX summer?

Asked by Rosie June 4, 2020
1
Answer

No, it is just a narrow breeze cooled by evaporating water. It would be more equivalent in capacity to a personal handheld fan, but better.

How long can I run this before I will need to add water?

Asked by Hotindesert June 1, 2020
1
Answer

Per manual 3 to 8 hours. My experience which depends on outside temperature and humidity is closer to around 4 hours, but I ran it only on hot Summer days.

How much does it weight?

Asked by Catalina May 7, 2020

Answer

Empty, no water, 14 ounces.

No, not that I've experienced yet, but I've only owned it two days. Further testing is required.

Could this be used in a car?

No reason why not, it has a USB plug, but it's filled with water to work which could get sloshy on turns.

Will it need replacement filters?

Answers

I just received mine and see there is a filter but cannot find a reference yet on how often to replace or clean. It replacement filters are needed, I'm not sure where to buy them.

Does this work well in humid climates?

I would think it would work where ever you used it. The machine is not "humidity-regulated" where it shuts off when too much or too little humidity has been registered.

Air conditioners are very technically advanced, this one is moderately easy to maintain. Directions are very simply explained. Evapolar instantly cools the room. Lasts for a period of time long enough to be pleasant. Easy to clean and use. Glad I finally have an air cooler in this hot unpredictable climate! Also, Evapolar is stylish and quiet. Very pleased!

I bought this to save money on my energy bill from using the central ac, and I had my doubts to purchase this, but now I'm happy with it. It keeps me cool through the whole night when im sleeping, I put it on my nightstand by my bed. And I like the night light, for waking up in the early mornings. I've had this since August.

Love this little air conditioner! It is very easy to use and compact. Comes with a great filter a louver that you can move with your fingers and a funnel to help pour the water into the water container part of the device. It comes with a usb cord to plus into your computer - anywhere with a USB port. It has one button at top that you control by pressing short one, two or three for power speed and one long to turn off. I have it facing me while working on my computer. Love the air. Much better than a traditional fan that blows everything around. This gently blows cool air and if it also humidifies the air even better! I can see this in the car too! or even on your night table.

The evapolar cooler air conditioner is so small and its useful to cool near by. It uses less water efficiently and does a better job. You can power it up by a USB cable and we can use the laptop or any USB charger plug in. The cooling performance is good when compared with other fan for its size. This product is great. The fan uses the room temperature. It is small unit, does not take up much space, easy to use. So easy to fill with water and I could not believe how it helped. As long as I was within a foot or two it kept me cool. I mean this thing works great, I love it. I carry it everywhere when working on little projects, fantastic, love it, recommend it!

I was asked to review the EvaChill portable cooler air conditioner by Home Depot, but I have to add the comment that I just received the cooler two days ago and have not had time to fully explore the operational usage, yet. I can say that it does cool the kitchen while I bake bread at 450 degrees but please watch the water level in the cooler. The cooler does say there is a funnel attached but I have not found it yet (instructions say to not fill it and move it but use the "funnel"?), nor is there a water level alert (i.e., when the water level is low or non-existent). You have to physically monitor the water level. I hope to have further testing and add another comment.

This personal evaporative air cooler uses the power of a small amount of water to effectively and efficiently cool you. When comparing this unit to a regular small tabletop fan, I found this preferable for a couple of reasons. First, it's much more effective than a fan since a fan only blows around the air that's already in a room. So if it's hot air in a room, that's what gets blown around. Second, the air blown is gentle. I can have this unit on my desk and all the papers on my desk do not get blown around like they do with the fan I use to use. This unit is easy to fill with water (even comes with a funnel inside to help with filling). It has 4 speeds that are controlled by pushing a button on the top, with a light indicating the level of speed. And it has a beautiful blue light which you can turn on or off, again with the button on the top--you hold the button down a bit longer to control the on/off of the light. Initially, my one criticism was that I needed to plug it into my laptop or computer to use it, which restricted where I could place it. Until, I figured out I could plug it into my phone's power bank (as shown in my last picture). This made it portable to be placed wherever I wanted or needed it.

Evapolor 45 sq. ft. evaChill Nano 47 CFM 4-Speed Portable Evaporative Cooler Air Conditioner is a personal cooling system. I thought initially it was a gimmick when I first saw these type coolers, but after setting it up it does a nice job, much better than just a small handheld personal fan. The reason is it not only creates an effective breeze with the fan, but it is evaporating water that adds a cooler air flow. It does this with a tank that is filled with water and will cool for up to five hours depending on the speed you run it or nine hours by first soaking the filter element. It comes with a small funnel that works well to fill the tank with water, no spills using a bottle. (Fill it with water chilled in the frig.) The process is that the water wicks into the filter that the fan then pushes air through it. It is all done in a small cube design that is about eight to nine inches all around. With its small size the cube will only blow cool air onto your face and the immediate surrounding space. It will not cool the area around you, it's not an air conditioner. It will not lower the temperature in the room. The cube is designed to put on a desktop near you when working or near your bedside at night. For that purpose it has a cute blue nightlight that illuminates the sides of the tank. The fan does make some small noise and is the loudest, as you'd expect, when set to high. It runs on a USB connection that means you need to be near a computer to plug in or have a power adapter. I used my Ridgid 5.2-volt battery pack that works fine for those that own power tools. Other than that it will require replacing the filter in 3 to 6 months depending on usage and they costs around $30. Overall, it works as a personal cooling device, but is pricey and you need a 5.2-volt power source for it to operate. I found the toggle switch a little delicate as well as the cube's handle. So to answer my question is it a gimmick, no it is not, but of limited use. If a personal fan gets the job done for you, this cube will do it even better, but at a price.

Good
The Evapolar evachill cooler has a very small footprint, less than a foot. The funnel to add water is small. When plugged in the cooler glows. The colder the water the colder the air. Will cool you if you sit close, not so much a room.
