              Product ruined my bathtub
I recently purchased "Green Gobbler Drain Clog Dissolver" at Home Depot to clear the drain pipes in my bathtub. Not only did it fail to remove the clog, but the product ate away at the coating of the bathtub drain (see picture) and has completely ruined my tub! This was a newly renovated bathroom, not even a year old. Now this could cost hundreds of dollars to fix! Very dissatisfied with this product, DO NOT BUY

stained my black sink and counter top
I decided to give green gobbler drain clog dissolver a try based on reviews and the fact it was septic safe after my kitchen drain backed up and began to drain slow I went to my local hd and returned home hoping for the best. I poured the recommended 1 quart down the drain using a 1 qt pyrex measure. at this point I went to work letting it sit. upon my return home approx 8+ hrs (recommended time is 1 hr pref. overnight) I heated up a large pot of water (a 4 gal lobster pot) as recommended and poured it into the drain hoping for the best, but to my disappointment the water level came right back up, I thought I would give it a plunge in hopes that it may have loosened up, but to no avail, it did not remove the clog. I was going to give it another shot overnight but was waiting for the water to recede from sink and just before bedtime. as the sink dried and water reseeded I noticed the staining/bleaching left behind in my sink and also a ring left on my countertop where I placed the pyrex measure cup. the bottle has no warning about this "store in cool dry place away from incompatible materials" I am disappointed in the results but more upset about the damage to my sink and countertop finish

The product does do what you purchased it for which is I open a clogged drain or toilet. It is Eco - friendly. . The main downside is the amount needed to do the job. It takes the full one gallon to clear your toilet. It gets messy when you need to clean out one sink. A sink requires 1 quart or 1/4 of the bottle. Finding something to measure in was a challenge since I did not want to use one of my glass measuring cups usually used for food. It works!

Green Gobbler addressed a slow draining sink quickly and easily. Pour it down the drain, wait an hour or two (wait overnight if the clog is bad), run the hottest water for a while, and the drain is good to go. There was one sink in our house that was draining a bit slowly, and I used Green Gobbler to correct that problem, which proved the beneficial effect of this product. In addition, I used the rest of the gallon on the other bathroom sinks, and the shower drains. This is an easy product to use, and it is nice to know that all of these drains are clear. The product was delivered in a cardboard box, with a large zip-lock bag containing the bottle. The child-proof cap was taped closed with tape that left no residue after it was removed (use of the right adhesives in packaging and labeling is important). Under the child-proof cap is a tamper-proof seal that must be removed with a knife or another similar tool. This product is very properly sealed and packaged to keep it away from children, etc. The directions are clear. I could make no improvements to this product, and I will use it again if the need develops.

Generally I prefer to avoid these kinds of liquid clog removers because I’d rather physically remove a clog rather than just dissolve it. But sometimes I need a product like this. I was surprised that this product really does not have much by way of smell. I really like not having to worry about fumes. I was also surprised that it’s consistency is a milky white, which is different than other competing products I normally use. I accidentally dripped some of this on my hand. I washed it off and I was fine, but it did sting a little while it was on. I don’t know if this product is quite as effective as others, but I like that it seems less irritating to skin and breathing. I wish it had a clear marker for how much to use per application.

I would recommend Green Gobbler 1gal. Dissolve Hair and Greese Clog Remover. I had a slow draining toilet. I let it sit for about 8 hours it flushed right down and has ever since. It also dissolves grease, paper and hair. It sinks through standing water and is guaranteed. There no unpleasant smell and is Eco clean. I will purchase it again when needed.

This is a drain opener that, in addition to dissolving hair and grease, also dissolves paper and soap scum. It can be used in sinks, tubs, and toilets, just follow the instructions for how much to use and how long to let it sit. My wife has a whirlpool bathtub/shower with a drain plug that cannot be removed, and after years of use the water was no longer draining. I figured the drain was clogged with her long hair. I poured in about a quart of drain opener, let it sit for an hour, then turned on the hot water full blast. The tub is now draining as good as new. We poured some in the toilet too and the toilet is draining just fine. The product purports to be "green", I don't know how safe it is, but it does not have that nasty smell that some other brands of drain opener have. For that reason alone, I would buy this product.

I was excited to try the Green Gobbler clog remover on our daughter's sink - a stubborn clog that was not being cleared with the usual 'name brand' removers. I followed the directions by pouring a pint into the sink. I waited about 3 hours and followed up with very hot water. It actually clogged worse! I got frustrated so I used that hair de-clogger tool, a plastic snake-thingy. Out came a gelatinous glob and lots of hair. Then, it cleared instantly! Perhaps if I did a second dose of the Gobbler it would have worked then. but from my experience with a hair-clog drain, anyway, it was not a great solution. The snake tool actually took care of the clog.

I was skeptical because none of the other drain cleaners worked on my slow draining kitchen sink. The chemical cleaner did nothing so I decided to give this a try. Its non-corrosive and actually not chemical based so my wife really like that. As you can see in the picture below the drain was not really working well. I poured in the Green Gobbler noting that it did not mar the stainless steel sink and left it sit overnight as instructed on the bottle. In the morning, I ran very hot tap water for several minutes as instructed and the sink now drains faster than my other drains. This stuff really works!
