Does HTP honor the warranty when the boiler is purchased from Home depot in the store? HTP like many boiler manufactures states the warranty is void when the boiler is purchased either online or from an unauthorized retailer. Can you confirm with 100% certainty HTP's stance on the warranty when purchased online from Homedepot.com and also their position when purchased in one of your stores? Does only one method or both methods retain the warranty?
Asked by: Bill
they may replace the boiler but you need to remember they will not cover the install which will be at least 2000.00 for even the same boiler. If there are any changes to the configuration it will cost even more.

How do you size for condo square feet

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Russell
There is no direct relationship between square footage of floor space and the amount of heat needed. As I am sure you can imagine the same exact condo situated in Alaska would need a lot more installed capacity than it would if it were in Florida. The process of determining how much is needed is called a heat loss calculation. There are free programs on line where you can put in room sizes, location, construction characteristics, etc. and it will calculate how much heat you need to install to satisfy the loss on the coldest hour of the coldest day of the year for that structure. With boiler replacement we can sometimes back into what is needed by adding up the distribution capacity that is installed in the home. Now at 55000 BTU's this unit does not have insignificant capacity. So my guess would be if you are having a problem this time of year, it might indicate that the unit is not modulating up to high fire, or you may be air bound. You are welcome to call me and we can talk about your system. Chris 978 651 3301

Customer Reviews

Elite FT Gas Heating Water Boiler with 55,000 BTU is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from HTP Products are Junk, tanks leak. This is a warning not to buy HTP products. We purchased 2 HTP Phoenix on demand water heaters for our business. We paid over $15,000 for them. At 2 years in we had to replace the blower on one of the units. Now at 5 years one of the units has a water leak from the tank into the combustion chamber. They are telling me it's a throw away and I will have to buy another water heater. So for $7500.00 it lasted all of 5 years and it's now a paperweight. What a pile of trash. The other one I'm sure is working on borrowed time. The company position is they will not replace it or even give us a deep discount on a new one. It's not how they do business they say. So taking care of customers is not how they do business. I have another brand of water heater at my other store going on 20 years. Buyer beware

I've had three of them in my home since the original install and each has failed. HTP only responded with another munchkin, no update, no upgrade and I paid for each install. Literally thousands of dollars later, I'm stuck with another 8700$ replacement bill and it will never be with another HTP product. Look at the reviews of Munchkin and imagine yourself three years from now paying 4000$ for another install for an HTP product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Difference in Technology I was hoping for a drastic change in operating costs, and this unit proved to be it. Very quiet running, my house no longer shakes when my old boiler would start, bills have been cut by at least 30%. The unit must be set up by a qualified combustion tech, but when it is it runs like a clock. Great choice
