A: Relatively small in comparison to other swing arm lights. Just the perfect size.
A: It’s on small side, about 7 inches round and high.
A: They are relatively small in height. About 10 inches high. Perfect for over a night stand.
A: No and no
A: It comes with a 110V plug. You may have to cut the plug if you want to hardwire it. The neck is slightly more than 1" diameter. It sits under the light bulb. If you can find a glass shade for it (may not be easy), I think you can swap.
A: Try a little bit of WD40 or oil to loosen it up. A little goes a long way. They are however supposed to be tight so they don't get bumped around.
A: I bought 2 of these lamps and one was very tight at the "shoulder" joint. I just forced it to slowly rotate back and forth. Some rusty dust (could be paint) came out and now it moves. I suggest not to overdo on this or it won't stay put later.
A: The drill bit size is 5/16". Beware that the provided anchors are for 3/4" drywall. Turns out mine is 1/2" and the anchors stuck out of wall for 1/4". So I ended up using these anchors https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hillman-3-8-in-Pop-Toggle-with-Screw-6-Pack-376255/202243047. They are heavy duty and will work with any drywall. I had some leftover from my closet system install. These anchors work with the included screws and the 5/16" hole you've made.
A: Start with a 1/8 inch drill bit. The anchors should fit nice and snug.
