AnswerThey can, but would look 'cheap', and kind of not a smooth type coat. Personally, I would purchase the wood ones they sell, and paint them: will look a LOT better, more professional.

Love the way it looks! I like that it will not rust and that it should be easy to clean. This floor register is in a place where it should never be stepped on so it should last a long time. If it was possible to step on it I would have chose one that was more durable.
