A:  GAC filters will work depending on the levels of radon. I’ve been using this filter in a 2 stage setup for 2 years now (change filters annually) and it works great. If your levels are high (above 5,000 pCi/L) you should use an aeration setup. Have your water tested.

A:  To best answer that question you need to call the company.

A:  On the manufacturers web site they give a partial list of chemicals and organic contaminants that the filter removes or reduces (it is a fairly extensive list). There is nothing listed regarding radon. Not much help, that's all I could find. Good Luck

A:  thank you both for answering, I actually dont want a filter that will trap any Radon since it can collect in the filter and it would be radioactive... which 1. requires hazardous waste disposal and 2. every time we would be near it would run the risk of exposure. if there is radon I prefer it to just dissipate into the air.

A:  No. The smell of rotten eggs comes from your water heater. I installed a pre filter to catch any sediment. The main cause of the smell is the anode rod inside. when a lot of particles build up it gives off the odor. Every three months or so I shut off the water, open the filter and fill it with peroxide twice letting it flow into the tank by turning the water back on. Do you notice the smell is worst when the hot water is running? Give it a few days and the smell should be gone. If it persists you may want to change the anode rod to a new one. This should cure your problem.
