I ordered a pair of the Klein tools Moreno wool thermal socks. They appear to be reinforced at the heel and toe. They are nice and thick the way I like my wool socks. I live in Colorado and it can get cold here, so I was able to put them to the test. I have worn them while going out for walks and they kept my feet nice and toasty. I really like these socks and they are a great quality. I would definitely ordered them again and recommend them.

PROS
The wool thermal socks have a nice fit and the elastic stays up on the calf when walking even after long periods. Wore them with my yard boots for a day and they kept my feet and calves toasty in 30-40F weather. They are thin enough to add an extra sock layer if the boots for an added layer of thermal protection. Definitely a good add to my sock assortment.

Extremely high quality Merino wool blend socks! Very impressed with quality of these work socks. Materials of construction are excellent: 68% Merino wool, 26% Nylon, 4% Polyester, 2% Spandex. This review is for the Size Large, which label on package says is good for Men's shoe size 7-11. I wear size 12 shoes and find these generous. Dimensions in picture show heel-to-toe dimension is 9 inches; heel-to-calf is 12+ inches. See also picture of inside-out sock which shows the nice internal reinforced heel and cushion for the foot bed. Five stars in my sock drawer!

The Klein tools merino wool socks are perfect boot sock, my husband has been wearing these with his work boots one afternoon while we were doing yard work and he said that they wicked away the sweat and other moisture away from his skin and kept him warm as well, he has issues with arch support with other socks and said these provided support for his arches while splitting logs and other yard work. I love that these are made in the US as well, and are great quality

Colorado weather can be snowing while the sun is out. Outdoor projects like a deck landing and stairs I am building require some pre-planning like what tools to drag out but also what clothing to wear for comfort and warmth. Really important is headgear where a lot of heat is lost and a good pair of socks, My toes seem to be the first thing to get cold.
Klein tools have some merino wool thermal socks that provide both comfort and warmth. They match the warm my best pair of hunting socks provide, and they are of a length that pulls up to mid-calf.

Great quality men's socks! Men's XL socks are not always easy to find, but to find them made with merino wool they are the best. These did go over calf and stayed in place nicely. Nice color and comfortable, not to thin or thick. Many features to a great thermal wool sock, seamless toe and sole reinforced. You can't beat Merino wool in wicking away moisture and reducing odor.

These Klein Tools Merino Wool Thermal Socks weigh in at 2 ½ oz. and feel very soft. I would call these ‘Medium Weight’. I am 6’ 2” and the socks came up more than mid-shin high. They stayed up, but did not bind around the calves. Unlike some socks, I did not feel any seam ridge anywhere around my toes. In fact, I can’t determine where the toe seam is, so there is no seam discomfort around the toes. I wear a size 11W shoe, and these socks fit just fine. They are warm, but not overly so. At 68% wool, they should keep my feet warm even if they become wet.
Klein Tools can be proud of branding these Merino wool thermal socks with their fine name.

I got these Klein Tools Merino Wool Thermal Socks because my feet are always cold. I like to wear warm socks with my house slippers in the evenings, and it seems that wool socks is the only thing that works for me. These socks work for me. They are easy to put on my feet and are comfortable on my feet and legs. They aren't too tight and don't slip down. I haven't washed them yet but I line dry my socks but these can be tumble dried on low. I like to have some extra space in my soles area so I have a large size pair of socks but these are a bit larger than necessary for my liking of 7.5 size foot, of 2 inches. My husbands' 9.5 size feet has extra sole area as well, about an inch. The packaging label says Large fits Men's shoe size 7-11. My feet do not itch, sweat or get too hot when I wear these. 68% Merino wool, 26% nylon, 4% polyester and 2% spandex. I'm happy with Klein Tools!
Made in USA and are made well.

I will start by saying I am somewhat of a sock snob, but I picked these up to replace some 20 year old tattered wool sock hand me downs from my dad. I have other wool socks by smart wool, features, and stance to compare these to. What I was honestly looking for was an extra big pair to go over the top of a standard cotton sock or a thinner wool sock for extremely cold days. I wear a size 12 mens shoe and would typically purchase a Large sock as I like my socks to fit snug like athletic socks. Since the purpose of these was to go over other socks I purchased the XL and they are too big for my foot, but not big enough to actually go over other socks.
The fit of these I would say is likely true to size. The XL is to large for my foot by 1/2" so the heal cup sits just beyond my heel.
The length on the calf is great to help keep your legs warm, these reach past my mid calf easily.
The toe "seamless" and is comfortable with no bunching or extra bult.
The arch has an elastic band to hold the foot which is a nice feature, but is not snug enough for me (this is likely due to the XL size).
Where I feel these socks fall short is the price compared to comfort. Again I am a sock snob and would compare these to a thinner version of a smart wool sock. At 14.99 I would expect these to be more similar in thickness and warmth, but I feel they are not at that level. These are not the old school itchy wool socks thanks to the merino wool and modern threading techniques, but these are not nearly as soft as my features or stance branded wool socks. I would consider these just a standard modern merino wool sock and would look for them on sale, but likely won't buy another pair at full price.
If you are just looking for a good go to wool sock, these will work great. Buy your standard sock size and wear them for years. Enjoy generally good warmth and decent comfort. If you are sock snob and want the best of the best, look elsewhere.

I do a lot of hiking year-round and have many pairs of Merino Wool blend hiking socks. I wanted to see how the Klein Thermal Merino Wool blend socks would compare. I thought the Klein socks were very comfortable, breathable and fast-drying. The construction of the sock offers support for your foot. The seamless toe is nice, you don’t feel a material ridge when walking. I didn’t feel a seam in the heel area either. The elastic in the top of the sock keeps it from slipping down and bunching up at the top of my boot. I have washed these socks several times and they hold their shape with no loose threads.
I would consider these socks to be a light to light-medium weight sock. The cushioning or weave on the inside of the sock is short when compared to a medium-heavy to heavy weight wool sock. This February had extremely cold temps in the single digits. I was wearing insulated winter boots and I didn’t think my feet were as warm when compared to a heavier wool hiking sock. I would recommend these socks for 25-degree weather and above.
Would like to see a medium to heavy weight cushioning option for extreme cold weather hiking.
The best thing about wool blend socks is they stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Merino wool wicks away moisture and is naturally antimicrobial and helps with odor control.
