AnswersNo, there is an enclosed plate/bracket that attaches to your existing power box in the ceiling. Everything is there that you need to install it where you once had a single chain fixture hanging. It's quite sturdy and I installed it in under 30 minutes.
I have an 18ft high ceiling and would like this mounted at 7ft high. Is mounting at this length possible on this fixture?

AnswersYes, you add or remove sections of the tubing to get the length you need. There's enough wire for the longest , so you just cut off the excess wire. It's a good solid mount and sturdy. I would go with three 40 or 60 watt equivalent LED bulbs tops

AnswersYes, if you’re thinking of over an island? I’d use clear white Edison bulbs though. For diningroom I picked the tinted and it would be to soft/golden for a working kitchen, I believe.

Great light. Packaging was good, everything arrived in good condition. Everything is there you need to install it on an existing power box on your ceiling. It's a very sturdy fixture, it has a nice , old fashioned, farmhouse look and feel to it. Three 100watt equivalent LED bulbs is a bit too much, lol. Go with 40 or 60 watt equivalent tops.

Light is nearly perfect. Only complaint is that the diameter of the class does not fit within the metal base. So it ends up canted to one side ever so slightly unless you try and center it before tightening the retention nut.
