Product Overview

Your blacktop driveway takes a beating from traffic, weather, freeze/thaw cycles and constant UV exposure. Until now there have only been two choices: re-seal or re-pave. Although traditional driveway sealers do a good job of beautifying and offering protection, no alternative has been offered that will give your driveway the look of new pavement with all the same protection benefits at a reasonable cost. This is exactly what we have accomplished with Lift. Lift is a low VOC, water based poly-acrylic formula that is four times thicker than traditional blacktop driveway sealers. Lift will give your driveway a new, uniform, slip resistant satin black micro-surface that will cover up hairline cracks and minor imperfections while slowing down your driveway's pace of aging and oxidation.
  • Apply when temperature is above 50°F and no rain is in the forecast for 36 hours
  • High performance low VOC micro-surface for asphalt
  • Easy 1-step application using lift flex applicator
  • Keep cracks and flaws covered with 1-uniform surface
  • Resists damage from UV rays, de-icing agents and fuel
  • 1 pail covers approximately 200 sq. ft.
  • Dry time - 4 hours for foot traffic 48 hours for vehicle traffic
  • Fix major repairs including cracks wider than 1/2 in. and allow to cure - please refer to instruction guide
  • Work with gravity applying back and forth across width of driveway
  • Lift will not work on concrete
  • Lift may be applied to previously sealed driveways; 2-coats may be applied with a 48 hour wait time before second coat
  • Thickness or build of the lift product will depend on porosity of the asphalt

This works best for asphalt that has many cracks but is in otherwise GOOD condition. Our driveway was in very poor shape with aggregate rocks sticking up and coming loose because it has not been coated in very many years. The containers we ordered would only cover less than a half of the driveway. It ended up at about 100 sq feet per container. When we realized it was not going to be enough, we coated the area on one side that needed it the most. Then went out and got UltraShield to finish the rest, since the Lift product was not available in the stores in California and takes about a week to ship from Connecticut. There is a noticeable difference in tone between the two products but it's not something that bothers us. This is a temporary fix since we plan on having the driveway replaced in a few years. The results are good so far. Areas that are extremely alligator skinned disappeared under this thick coating. The drying time given seems to be best if your driveway is in sun all day. Because of an apartment building next door, ours gets sun only about 4 hours a day and took much longer to harden enough to walk on! After 4 or 5 days, there were still sticky soft spots. It's been a week and it appears to be hardened enough to drive on. Humidity was at around 50% or less here in Southern California. The cost of getting a driveway done professionally varies from place to place so it's a good idea to get a quote from several asphalt contractors before you consider doing this yourself. Where we live, it's very expensive, so it was worth getting this product. But it depends on the condition of your asphalt. It could end up costing more to do it yourself. Make sure you order the special squeegee made for this and order everything well in advance of when you expect to do this... in case they send you the wrong squeegee as happened to us.

This product did an excellent job. Gotta finesse with the squeegee to feather the edges nicely and make sure to trowel patch and fill large cracks, but it provides a perfect finish. Took me about 2 hours to apply 350-400 square feet of product. Keep the bead medium thickness and don't stop! Definitely recommend this product.

Adhesion to the surface is critical - dampness underneath can cause cracking and blisters.
I used this product last Summer and the initial appearance was very good. After the Winter snow there are many hairline cracks and some bare spots. The product actually produces a thick 'dried paint film' on top of the existing asphalt - it does not appear to 'soak in' or penetrate the old surface. Most of the surface does seem to be sticking OK, but there are many small cracks and some small 'peeling' sections. If the old asphalt is in an area with very good drainage - no standing water puddles, and little 'soggy ground' around the perimeter, then this product might be fine. But I think my trouble is caused by damp ground under the asphalt (possibly due to huge piles of melting Winter snow), and the dampness rising and causing the product's film to separate from the old asphalt. I have patched the cracks and peeling, and plan to use Dura-Sand Mix to coat the entire driveway surface.

Performed better than expected, an excellent product that will fill cracks up to 5/8" with no problem. I would recommend this product despite it's price because the result is much much better than the best latex driveway sealer. The saying "you get what you pay for" is appropriate for this product.

Worst driveway product ever made in the history of humankind....
Worst driveway product ever made in the history of humankind. It has torn up when parked on exposing/making holes in driveway. When it rains water goes under the product and bubbles up like giant black blisters all over the driveway. And yes I followed the directions to the letter when applying this garbage. Customer service is the worst, because they want me to somehow repair the damage while it continually sluffs/tears off driveway. Driveway needs total resurfacing now after using this stuff and I cannot afford it. Thanks a lot latexite/home depot for ruining my driveway!
