Q:Are these outlets rated for 20a pass through?
I have 12/2 wire, 20a wall breakers and want to use these outlets in my garage. Most draw is a compressor rated surge at 12-15a at this time with no actual 20a female plugs on ant device/appliances.

Not for high use outlets
These are fine if you do not use frequently. If they are plugged into and removed as constantly as they are in our household, get a heavier duty outlet. Not saying they are junk, just for the value minded. About 4 years of heavy use.

They're definitely getting the job done they are so easy to install I'll be getting a couple of more boxes soon to finish up my home I love it that the openings close when I whe noutlet is not in use the only downfall is you cannot insert them in the back in the insert holes if your gauge wires are larger than 14 gauge you have to insert wires on the sides w/ the screws including ground other than that they're excellent my home was built in 1937 upgrading is coming along just fine!

I love the tamper proof, I don't need to worry about kids sticking something inside.
Tip: wrap the wire around the screw instead of pushing it in back, it's better for long run.

It's amazing what a difference something as small as these can make to a room. Our 1960's house had been a rental most of its life before we bought it. So we spent a lot of time patching the walls, painting, refinishing the hardwood, and changing the doors and windows. But it still had an old feel. Then we swapped the original almond-colored outlets and plates with these. Best $15 we spent. They completely changed the feel of the rooms. The Leviton tamper resistant duplex outlets have a nice flat face that looks modern while other tamper resistant brands have a stamp on their faces that is distracting. These are also easy to install, took maybe 40 minutes to swap 10 of them and most of that was spent getting the wires out of the old ones. Best of all they're made in the USA. For less than the cost of a cheap gallon of paint these are definitely worth it.
