The screws supplied with our window boxes are only intended for mounting into wood/siding. For mounting into Brick or concrete we advise the use of masonry hardware/tapcons which do need to be purchased separately (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Tapcon-3-16-in-x-2-1-4-in-Phillips-Flat-Head-Concrete-Anchors-25-Pack-24260/100202571). Thank you for your interest in Mayne products!
We do not recommend painting your item Our products are manufactured from polyethylene, which is an oil-based plastic. If you do choose to paint your product, we recommend testing on a small unvisible portion before painting the entire product. Please be advised that painted products cannot be returned and that painting the product will also void the warranty
The durable polyethylene that our window boxes are molded from is designed to be able to be left out in all seasons, in all weather conditions, including the coldest of Winters. There are just a couple of recommendations we do make when leaving your window boxes up throughout the winter. 1) Make that your window boxes are draining properly by ensuring that there is nothing blocking the overflow drain hole(s) at the bottom of your window boxes. 2) It is usually a good idea to slow the amount of water you are putting in your planter once temperatures begin to reach freezing to limit the amount of excess water that is in the reservoir. There will always be water left in the reservoir and that is fine, our double-walled design will allow room for the water to expand during freezing so there is no risk of cracking. 3) Should you receive an exceptionally large snowfall, we recommend you brush snow build-up, off of the top of the window boxes to avoid excess weight from snow/ice weakening the wall mount brackets. 4) The wall-mount brackets are painted with a rust-resistant coating however it is a good idea to inspect them every year or two for any signs of rusting and sand and re-paint as necessary. Coastal customers who's window boxes are exposed to the salt air, in particular, may want to watch for this. Should you wish to bring your window boxes indoors to store for the winter, and would like to remove all of the water from the reservoir you will need to have drilled the optional fill port/drainage hole. Your window box should have come with a 3/4" plug for this option,
This planter has a double-wall design that creates a "Sub-irrigation" reservoir system. Capillary action allows water in the reservoir to soak upward keeping the soil and plant roots moist creating a self-watering effect. Regular watering is required for the first few weeks giving the root system time to develop. Once the roots have grown down into the troughs of the planters, the plants will be able to pull moisture from the reservoir. With this system you will find the potting mix stays moist longer than traditional planters. To avoid over-saturation an overflow hole allows excess water to drain out. Although "self-watering" containers still need to be watered, they need to be watered less frequently than your typical planter.
Hi there! This window box is only available in 36" and 48" options.
Hi there, We do not recommend painting your item Our products are manufactured from polyethylene, which is an oil-based plastic. We have found that paint typically does not adhere to it very well; it tends to peel and flake off over time. If you do choose to paint your product, we recommend testing on a small unvisible portion before painting the entire product. Please be advised that painted products cannot be returned and that painting the product will also void the warranty.

Hello, unfortunately we do not have a window box railing kit that works with the wall mount brackets to secure over a rod iron fence. We do have a deck railing kits but they work with a 2x4 or 2x6 railing. Thanks!
