What is the largest m18 battery that can be installed on this jigsaw before it interferes with the surface?

The 3.0 lasts a really long time. Last me all day on hard wood floor jobs of 1000 s.f. Plus, doubt you'll need a 5.0 or above unless you are constantly using it for 8 hrs straight. Anything bigger than 5.0 may get in your way and make it kinda heavy.

The on off switch takes some getting used to, but so does growing old.... flipped over to cope joints it is still easy to use... It comes with a plastic shoe cover so you don't need to tape the shoe if you're concerned about scrape marks on a finished surface... Not being tethered to a cord increases the versatility of it... Balance with a 5.0 battery in it seems perfect...

We've been asking for it, and Milwaukee listened. I was so excited to get my hands on this new saw as I was hoping it would makes cuts quickly and smoothly, it's even better than I thought. Firstly, its built very well. Extremely heavy duty saw that will hold up to the most extreme environments. The over mold grip feels great in the hand, but they placed it around the whole top half of the saw. They also added a nice grooved area where you can palm grip it to really make some tight cuts. I also love that the pit two little finger indentations for the thumb and pointer finger. (Can be used with left or right hand) The saw is longer thank the D grip saw, but it has a much lower profile. That being said, the only real issue I have with this saw is that there was no place to put the bevel release lever, so you need to remove the shoe protector and loosen the bolt like the old school saw. They did include a wrench that is hidden in the back of the saw, but it does take a a bit longer to change cuts. That being said, the detents are nice, and set up for the most popular bevel positions. As for power , it's a monster. You can blast through anything you put in front of this saw. The orbital action is crazy powerful, and will eat through wood like its hungry for it. There is also an adjustable speed knob that allows you to set the speed to whatever you need, but by far the coolest thing this saw offers is the auto mode. On the dial the is ans (A). When you push harder, or cut harder material, the saw automatically adjust the power it needs to make the cut. This also really helps when starting a cut as it will begin slowly and rev up once the line is started. Another very cool feature on this saw is the on and off switch. There is no trigger, just a slider on the left and right side of the saw which will turn it on when you slide it up. It takes about a second to turn it on for safety, but shuts down immediately when you push down on it. Again, this is on the left and right side of the saw. All in all, it's just an awesome tool. I really wish they would have found an area for a bevel release lever, but other than that, its simple awesome.

Powerful jigsaw that gets the job done but head to head with Makita it fell short (Full Video Review Below). I tested this Milwaukee in conjunction with the Makita barrel grip brushless jigsaw (XVJ01Z) and would rate this saw a C+. The Milwaukee has several nice features such as a switchable blower, and vacuum collection that the Makita lacks. The Makita is also priced 40% higher than the Milwaukee (at the time of this review). But the Makita provided better cuts, was lighter/shorter which made it easier to handle, and had a superior blade change mechanism. I should also mention that the Milwaukee saw blade chuck jammed and would no longer accept blades after just an hour of use. I also had a poor experience with the Milwaukee technical phone support. Fortunately Home Depot happily accepted a return (excellent service!) and provided me with a replacement. The second Milwaukee jigsaw also had a stiff blade chuck and I found it less than ideal to use (Makita was a breeze) but it never jammed like the first saw, making me think the first one was just a lemon. Bottom line if you already own Milwaukee tools this jigsaw is priced fairly and will get the job done. And is a nice addition. But it has room for improvement. About my rating: 5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B) 3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C). 2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D) 1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F)

Feels like a corded jigsaw. It has plenty of power for whatever I put it through. Used it to do cuts for 800sq. ft. of laminate wood flooring, cutting a sink cut out on a formica countertop, some thin aluminum and other things. And it didn’t struggle with anything and cut really smooth when I turned. Feels heavy duty and well balanced. The battery life is real good. I used it with a 5ah battery and never really ran out of juice in any application. It has some features I really liked, like power switch on both sides for right or left handed people, light to see cutting, blower to blow dust out of the way, attachment for vacuum, variable speed and other things. Blade change is nice and simple and never had a blade pop out. Only thing that kinda threw me off was to be so it you have to use a allen wrench to bevel the saw (not tool less). But it’s not that bad because it stores in the shoe of the saw nice and snug. Great tool and heavy duty quality. Must have for a pro. Good job Milwaukee.

This jigsaw is pretty awesome, another great product from Milwaukee. This is my first barrel grip jigsaw and I was a little concerned that I was not going to like holding the jigsaw like that but boy was I wrong. Milwaukee has made the handle so comfortable to hold on to and the on/off switch on either side of the jigsaw is a great touch. The saw has multiple settings for cutting speed and i really love the "A" setting that automatically adjusts the speed of the saw blade when you start cutting into your material. Has a blower built in to remove debris from your cut or can use the included section for hose attachment to vacuum the dust away. The LED light on the front is great to see your cut line. I highly recommend this saw and think the pros of this saw easily outweigh the minor cons. The blade replacement is super easy with just a pull of a lever. I would say the only downside to this jig saw is that the battery placement limits you to probably no more than a 5ah battery. But to be honest that is not that big of a deal because I doubt you will come across a situation where you would need to cut with a jigsaw longer than a 5ah battery would last. Also the jigsaw is a little heavy which is great for controlled cuts but if you have to make multiple cuts it might wear your arm down a little. Otherwise I think Milwaukee really knocked it out of the park in this one. Great jigsaw from a great company.

I have an ongoing bathroom project so I needed a jigsaw to cut a round hole in the subfloor for the toilet. So I ordered the Milwaukee M18 fuel brushless, cordless, Barrel grip jig saw at Home Depot. When I opened the box and saw the jigsaw for the first time. It was a very impressive tool. In the Box it came with a t-shank saw blade, anti-splinter guard, transparent blade cover, dust collection attachment, LED cover, an Operators manual. I used the jigsaw to cut the circle out of the plywood for the subfloor. This jigsaw has so much power and with the 4 position orbital action selector lever you can change how aggressive the saw cuts. This jigsaw also has a feature when you are cutting, it's called blower shuttle. It has a switch on the right side of the saw where you can turn it on or off. It blows the cut material away from the line that you are cutting. When you use the blower shuttle in combination with the built-in bright LED light you get Superior cut lines. This is another Plus in my book. This jigsaw also comes with an onboard storage for the hex key to adjust the angle on the shoe. That means you won't lose it or you don't have to look everywhere for it. That worked out for me. The shoe has 4 detents notches in the middle of the shoe so you can make 0, 15, 30, and 45 degrees angle cuts. It comes with a plastic shoe cover so you don't Mar or scratch the surface that you are cutting and it snaps on the bottom of the shoe easily. I must say this jigsaw is a little on the heavy side with the battery attached. But I believe that is a good thing because sometimes when you are cutting certain materials the saw Will want to Buck on you so I think the weight will tame that problem down. The Ambidextrous power switches are perfect for this saw. You can cut the saw off and on the left or right side. But I really love the keyless blade change when you pull the lever the tool spits the blade out. I can't tell you how many times I have burnt my fingers pulling hot blades out of the jigsaw. That won't happen anymore with this jigsaw. When I used the 6 speeds control on the saw it helps me make better cuts. When I tried the A setting on the speed control it starts out slow and ramps up to full power. This feature helps me to get my cut started right on the line I want to cut. The saw comes with black diamond shape rubber over mold that gives me a good grip on the top of the saw and the top of the barrel body and the saw measurements are 11-1/2" L x 3" W x 7-1/2 H . I want to let you know the dust collection tube that comes with the saw you will have to buy an adapter to connect to your shop vac hose. I have been waiting for somebody to make this saw my whole life and Milwaukee did it. I give this jigsaw 5 stars this Milwaukee jigsaw has everything you need power, durability, Precision cutting and a 5 year manufacturer warranty. I believe I purchased the best jigsaw on the market for the money

Milwaukee M18 Barrel Grip Jigsaw is another great product from Milwaukee. Will work with any M18 battery but if you do any angle cuts, anything over the 5.0 can interfere With your cuts. Brushless and has orbital settings also. Has push slides on both sides to start and stop the blade. Push and hold for a sec or two to start it. However just a slight push will stop it quickly. Easily accessible from either side. Has a dial to select speed from low to high or “A” for automatic ramp up when it detects you’re starting the cut into material Has a blower built in to blow away from your cut or can use the included section for hose attachment to vacuum the dust away. Also has anti splitting guard and a dust piece and uses only T shank jigsaw bits. Comfortable and has a little bit of weight to it. I love it and highly recommend it.

Excelente herramienta.
