Can my son use this as a weapon?

Asked by MasterDebater September 1, 2015

I'd be more worried if he had like a cordless sawzall or something. With this he could maybe try and launch some debris at you from a very carefully angled shot at the ground.

Where do I find parts for this tool?

I called the number in the first answer. They asked for my serial number, in about a minute they had my info and are sending me one at no charge. When I called Ramset from the number posted on their website it directed me to an answer machine and I had to leave my name and number, as of now no call back...

do you have stainless steel nail

Asked by boss1 February 12, 2018

Answer

Hi boss1, we do not currently offer a stainless steel drive pin. The most common applications for this tool are indoor applications in non-corrosive environments, so the use of stainless steel is not necessary. We do offer Ramguard Drive Pins which are approved for use in treated lumber. If you have any further questions, please contact customer service at 877-489-2726. Thank you.

This is the one of the, if not the, most time saving tools I own. When anchoring 2 by 4s to concrete to frame out a wall, I had been drilling a hole through the 2 by 4, then in to the concrete, and then using a concrete anchor. To install each anchor took about 3 minutes - drill the lumber, drill the concrete, insert the anchor, and finally tighten down the anchor. With this tool it takes me literally a second! I used a 3 inch anchor and it effortlessly went through the 2 by 4, through the 1/16th inch metal bottom plate, and in to the concrete. Locking everything in place. Operation could not be simpler. Load a strip of 10 'rounds' in to the base, add an anchor to the tip, press on to the surface to be anchored and pull the trigger, that is it!. After each anchor is fired, you cycle the cylinder (kind of like how you would a pump action shotgun) and the next round is chambered, just add another anchor to the tip and repeat. This is not one of those clumsy tools that require you strike the tip with a hammer, this just needs a simple pull of a trigger. I can't tell you how much I enjoy using this tool over the 'old fashioned' way. It is very fast, very easy to use, and works perfectly.

I am working on a basement and borrowed a cheap hit with a hammer 22 unit. After many misfires and the fires that did occur still left a good 3/4 of an inch of the nail still out. I tried to finish a job with a 2 1/2 pound hammer but ended up breaking or bending them. After doing some research I decided to buy my own unit with a a larger caliber. Now all I had to do is fire a trigger. The nails set perfectly every time. I even have the option to set the power to my exact specification. The unit is a bit pricey but quickly makes up for the loss of time of have to fix an incompetent nail set.

You can buy the Hilti equivalent of this tool for $199. It's called the DX 2 and was released earlier this year. Far superior to the Ramset.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
We used this when we restored the milk house on our farm land. It is a block building but the window and door frames all rotted out. We used the ramset to anchor the frames to the blocks. Worked great. Word of warning though, the instruction manual is not real clear on some things. I had to go on the internet and watch a video to figure out how to make it fire the first time. The manual was not clear. Once I figured it out though, the nail gun works great.

This tool drilled 11/2 inch nails into my solid concrete walls with one shot while set on the lowest power setting with ease. I have never seen a tool make a difficult job so easy and fast. I had to buy the nails and powder loads but they were inexpensive and worth every penny!

This is a heavy-duty, very complicated nail gun that you need to get online certification before you use the tool. It also takes specialized nails only using their brand. However, the instructions are detailed and clearly written, It also comes in its own bright orange plastic case with accessories (except the nails).
