If you try to get a Home Depot installation, they will tell you that they do not carry this 55-gallon water heater and that you have to pick it up yourself from the store. Even if you do that, the Home Depot installation company told me it costs about $200 more than the regular installation price ($475). They said the $200 extra is because the 55-gallon unit weighs about 5-7 pounds more than the 50-gallon and therefore requires 2 people. I suggest you go with another plumber beyond the Home Depot installer.
The only difference is loading an app and setting up wifi. Leak detector is pre-installed.
90 degrees
Yes I bought one less than 1yr ago and I am now having an issue with it shutting down. I displays a blinking triangle which means it has stopped heating. I have to cut the breaker to reset. This happens 2 to 3 times day.
It was not optional in my county. Cost me an additional $237 for the tank and the installation.
100 % quiet
Rheem product description says: As a Performance Platinum, the Gladiator has a 12-year limited tank and parts warranty plus a 3-year in home labor warranty. This model comes with 2 5500-Watt stainless steel heating elements. Who is correct Ad, or Rheem answer in above question?
Yes....controls on the front.
No. People do but shouldn't... Two Reasons: It's coated on the inside tank so bumps during the transport directly impact the protective coating. I'm not sure why anyone would want to jeopardize the rust inhibiting coating. Anode Rods It has anode rods that are inserted from the top. A 30" metal rod that is supported on only one side means all the bouncing stresses where the rod was screwed in. Water heaters will leak from that area so again, why stress that point?
It can only be disabled once it's been tripped and for only 24 hours. Then you have to do it again. There's no permanent shutoff of the leak detector.
