can I use a dewalt router with this stand
Asked by: Kat
It will NOT fit a DW621. Not even close. I had to make a new insert. Drilling existing is difficult because it's got so many other holes for many other routers.

Yes you can mount your tool to this table. You'll find that this router table is set up really well. Enjoy learning your table. With the right bits you'll have hours of wood working.

Table has a decent surface size and materials are consistent with price but it has three major drawbacks. 1) Does not fit Dewalt routers (specifically DW621). It fits Bosch, Craftsman, Hitachi, Makita, Milwaukee, Porter Cable, RIDGID, RYOBI, and Skil but NOT Dewalt. 2) Cord is too short. At only about 12"-16", it is too short to even reasonably reach a wall socket at the same height of the table. 3) Dust collector does not fit a standard 1-7/8" shop vac. It is advertised at 1-1/4" and wouldn't fit my Rigid vac. One other item is that the inserts are difficult to remove. They snap in and have to be pushed up from the bottom which means trying to work around the router, guards, bits, etc (make sure you have the whole thing unplugged before attempting removal). Lastly, it would have been nice to have a cup, slot or pocket somewhere for the table inserts and a bit wrench. I've been able to overcome everything listed but it seems that these could have been overcome with just a little more thought at the design table or user groups.

This router table is easy to assemble, and comes with all of the basic features you'll find in other tables within its class. It has a nice, adjustable featherboard, sliding fence, sliding miter gauge and dust cover, and one feature I didn't expect to find in this table, but that it has, is an adjustable outfeed portion on the fence, that allows you to use the table to joint the edges of boards to get them straight. It can be adjusted in 1/16" increments out to a maximum of 1/4". This comes in handy when planning to use a biscuit tool to glue boards together. None of the documentation really explains how to make the adjustments well enough to use it as a jointer, but you can figure it out with a little patience. Paired with the Ryobi fixed-base router, it's a good match for anyone who may be looking for something that can give them more control over how they want a project to look in the end. During the setup of the table, pay close attention to your adjustment of the router mount in the center of the table to be sure its as level as possible. This will go a long way towards your projects coming out just the way you expect them to!

Easy to put together, fast and mates up nicely to my 3 year old Ryobi router. I've been creating my own jigs to do things myself, and I spent the last couple weeks actually building a table and a mount for my router JUST so that I could cut a channel in some 1.5" boards... I was making hatch slides for my sailboat. I had to do multiple tests on wood first before I ultimately cut the groove in starboard (plastic). I finally got frustrated and realized if I had this table I could have done it in minutes not hours, with a lot less "testing." Well when I needed to round a bunch of edges on a stack of 6"x6" plates of starboard, I finally decided it would cost me as much to pay someone else to round the edges as it would to buy the table. I couldn't be happier. I rounded all the edges in about 15 minutes! I spent the entire evening rounding a whole bunch of items I was working on I was so tickled with the result. The white blocks below were all routed using a round-off bit on the above table (that's 3/8" starboard plastic in white).

Did not even have to look at the manual! The only drawback I see with this table is that the power cord is only about 18” long. Disappointing to have to use a extension cord.

Easy to assemble except the forward guard behind the switch module blocks the bit adjustment/release lever for my craftsman router. Also the throat plates and mounting plate the router attaches to are very soft plastic and gouge very easily. The mount plate leveling screws do not fully or evenly level the plate no matter how much you tweak them.

At first I was a bit put off by a router table that cost more than the router (I bought the Ryobi R1631K), but I soon realized that it was a great value. I was able to easily route slots and bevels, with the adjustable fence very helpful, as was the hood with dust removal port.

The setup was easy and repeatable, and held firm for the entire project. The router table fit my Bosch router without problems using the fixed base. Great value for the price.
