Product Details

This plane is ideal for planning end grain and plastic materials. The cutter rests at 21°. The sides of the plane have finger grips machined into them. With an adjusting feature, the plane can be set to the desired depth.

            Workhorse of a Plane
            I am a woodworking teacher and I teach handtool woodworking to students from 1st - 8th grade. I have a few of these planes in service every day. The kids love them and they work great. I also have some vintage Stanley hand planes and a few new ones. They can take a beating and as the kids say the work and shavings are so satisfying.

              Nice block plane with a little work.
              The Stanley Bailey block plane provides a decent starting point that if one is willing to put in the work to tune, can be made into an accurate and reliable tool.
