Does this unit need to stand vertically when in use, or can it be laid down horizontally? And even if it's okay to run horizontally, would it be recommended, considering the weight and tugging of the hose in that position might put undue stress at the garden hose connection point? I've been reading various reviews where there have been issues with the hose connection point being cheap and comprised of plastic parts (some have replaced with a brass piece), eventually leaking at that spot, so the last thing I would want is to stress it out to the point where I accelerate the possibility of it starting to leak.

per instruction manual (link provided on HD's item info page) it's meant to be used upright only

Will this work to clean landscape rocks?

The previous owners did not take care of the landscaping. Will this remove the built up dirt on the rocks? Thanks!
Asked by: sandi
Yes, to the limits of ground's ability to soak up the water if the landscape stones are smaller. We used it on larger boulders and it worked quite well.

Would you recommend buying the HD 2yr. protection plan for this product for $18?

It looks like the manufactures warranty is 2yrs. so if you get the HD protection plan it will add another 2 years is how I think it works for only $18. To all the owners of this pressure washer would it be beneficial to get the protection plan?
Asked by: ben
Depends, if you think it might break, then yes. However, to add to the other person's reply on using a VISA card to double the warranty, I found out that if you get the extra warranty of 2 yrs plus if you use your VISA (be sure it is right type of VISA card) you can extend the total warranty to 6yrs total. WOW, now that's worth it.

I have shaded areas near my house/off my patio area around the pool. The gunk was so thick and black. After only 5 minutes, I realized my concrete had small pebbles in it. I only vaguely remember them being there. This pressure washer was easy to assemble, easy to handle. The connection for the garden hose leaked a little, but was a small price to pay for the amazing job this unit did. Motor stops when you release the trigger on the sprayer handle. My brick steps are red again. 18 years of gunk gone! I used it on my painted wood too-around the door and just above the bricks. They had some algae accumulation also. GONE! This was so easy to use and the results were so amazing, my 18 year old daughter asked to do some of the concrete. She just kept saying "wow, this is amazing". Well worth the price! (ps, it also cleans shoes quite well-She pressure washed her Vans back to white :) )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy With It! I purchased the SPX3000 (as well as the patio/driveway attachment) this spring. It was to replace an older electric washer (different brand), and the reviews for this unit seemed positive. I've thus far used it to power wash the north side of my house, after a wet and mild winter it was VERY moldy. I sprayed on some mold solution, let it sit, then cleaned with the SPX3000. It did an excellent job, much better than my old washer, and in a much shorter time! (No need to go over and over the same area.) I especially liked the dual solution tanks (old unit had just one, but required attaching it to the spray head, them removing to spray) and changing the 5 spray heads on the SPX3000 is quick and easy. (My old unit had only 2 heads, and it was hard to change between them.) I then used the driveway attachment to clean a 10'x3' area of sidewalk (as a test'), and it did a good job in a fraction of the time with my old unit. My only regret was struggling with my old unit for so long, and not going with this unit earlier!

I bought the Sun Joe about two weeks ago, and bought the detergents for the stucco walls of my house and my concrete driveway last Friday. I spent yesterday and today essentially using the 15 deg nozzle like a power water chisel to wash accumulated dirt and mildew off the sides of the house, especially on the bottom half of the walls. I also bought the Sun Joe accessory for cleaning driveways and sidewalks used it on four sections of the driveway so far without the detergent. The Sun Joe and the accessory performed much better than I had expected. I can't help but to note that other users posted poor reviews of the detergents or the machine. All I can say is, read the directions. Instructions for the detergent say to leave the detergent on the surface for five to ten minutes before you start rinsing off with the 15 or 25 deg nozzle. And you may expect to get right up on the work at hand, using the 15 deg spray like a chisel to get some of the more stubborn stains off the wall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Machine...but... If you are a homeowner, and need a pressure washer for use around the home it's a good buy. I washed my metal shed, pool deck, paver stones, pressure treated deck, shutters, and the exterior of the house, all without much effort. However, there are a few drawbacks. The nozzle for reaching 2nd story areas will reach, but don't expect it to do more than remove light dust or dirt. If the area is heavily soiled, you will need something with more power, like a commercial washer. The hose connection on the machine is metal, the adapter is plastic. After moving the machine around a few times the plastic adapter becomes stripped and falls off. Very poor design. Of course you can avoid this by removing the hose each time you are going to move the machine, but that's a lot of work. I liked all the other features, I will be contacting the manufacturer to see what can be done about the adapter. Meanwhile I'm going to try a metal hose connector and see if that solves the problem. If not, I guess it's going back to the store.

It is performs extremely well and provides surprising power for an electric washer. It runs quieter compared to my old 1850 psi Snap-on washer. Very easy to put together and the blue color looks pretty sharp. This has an interesting feature that will allow you to wash with two different kinds of soaps. You can easily flip back and forth with a turn of a knob. Not too sure if I will really make use of this feature. I only ever use one kind of soap to begin with (if any). There is one small thing I do wish they would do with the design. There really should be some kind of drain where the tip of the wand normally sits. It seems like this little reservoir pocket always is full of water after a job and kind of makes a mess every time I wheel it back into garage for storage (see pic). I will probably drill a drain hole if it keeps bothering me. Overall I am very impressed with my Sun Joe. Five Stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. I bought this power washer to clean my cedar fence, wooden patio furniture and trex... Great value. I bought this power washer to clean my cedar fence, wooden patio furniture and trex type decking. It works really well on all these - my fence looks new. I also found it works well on garage floor mats and a number of other spring cleaning projects. It is well designed, easy to set up and has 5 different heads to facilitate many different types of tasks. 2030 pounds of pressure is plenty for what I bought it to do. I have used gas powered pressure washers and was a little concerned about an electric washer and it's ability to handle my projects. This unit works really well and I am completely satisfied with it. The only issue I had was with the online registration. I figured out to use Chrome as a browser rather than Explorer - then it was easy. I did leave a note with Sun Joe customer service prior to figuring that out. I was pleased to have them respond to me quickly. Good product and good customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SPX3000 Review Ok, so this unit is awesome in power, cleans very well. Operation is fairly quiet. Powering completely off when you release the trigger is HUGE plus! Light, easy to move around when needed. Plug in power cord is of decent length. Now the cons. The unit having the water inlet in the front and the outlet in the rear makes it hard for dealing with the hoses, tangling and so on. Original hose is only 20' long. would have preferred at least 25 or 30 foot pressure hose. I would have bought the 25' extention hose with the unit had I realized this issue when I purchased it. The spray wand is too short! I am 5' 10" and found myself crouching down to power wash the driveway and am now fighting to find a longer one from another supplier since they only sell one length! BOO! this is a huge problem for me. I found the 15 degree tip works well for almost everything I cleaned, which was house, rinsed off the cars, and power washed the driveway. Overall an excellent unit that is very well worth the price I paid!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Machine This is a nice little washer. I used it for cleaning my driveway, sidewalks, garage door and the bricks on my home. It worked great! It had enough pressure to get the job done. The only 2 cons, the setup of the hoses make it hard to roll the machine around. The garden hose comes out the front, the sprayer hose comes out the back. it's made to tip back on the wheels and roll. You can't do it easily because the hoses are in the way in either direction....design flaw. I ended up carrying it from place to place most of the time. There were hoses and cords everywhere! I also purchased a hose quick-connect brass fitting (saw this idea in the reviews) and this is definitely a good idea. The fitting that comes with it has a plastic handle and is cheaply made. However, the brass fitting resolves having to use it and should resolve the issue. Overall, this is a good sprayer, especially since I didn't want to spend $250-$300. I ran it for several hours straight and it never missed a beat!
