Easy to apply and remove, this blue paper tape from Trimaco is designed to be used on a variety of surfaces. Even works great on curved edges. Indoor and outdoor use.
This tape is very high quality crepe tape. It was easy to use and comes off anything applied, cleanly. Even after 1 week! The adhesive is just enough that it's not too sticky. It's very good for painting both interior and exterior uses. It doesn't leave any kind of residue. I would definitely use this for any application I have for crafts or painting.
This works as well as the others. I did see a mention of some "bleed-through". I have painted professionally and there is not a tape out there (that I am aware of) that will not give you some bleed-through if one lays the paint on tape edge heavy with a brush or roller. The BEST way to get a clean edge is to used a semi-dry roller and go over the tape edge a few times until you have some solid color. Then roll normally staying away from the tape edge if the roller is still quite "wet".
I tend to follow up with some hobby brush to touch up where it might have bled-through for that professional clean line.
Sticks well and comes off well (like others have written, depending upon what you put it on). Can't blame the tape if you put it on a poor finish to begin with.
I recommend it
If you are looking for a tape that will help you create a painting project with straight clean edges this is not it. I had paint bleed throught the tape so the tape didn't help at all. However, for small arts and crafts projects the tape is usefull.
This is a good painters’ tape. I use scissors to cut off lengths of tape; otherwise you will wind up with an uneven tear. The tape can be removed without pulling off any underlying paint. The tape sticks pretty well and leaves a clean edge. It goes on well and is easy to cover what you don’t want to paint. I left it overnight and it did not remove any of the paint that I applied the day before.
I'd rate this a good standard painters tape. It has a papery feel rather than the more plastic sheen of some tapes. Except for the tapes that 'snap' at right angles to their length, I always use scissors to cut off lengths of tape, otherwise you wind up with an oblique tear that is a nuisance.
I found that his tape can be removed without pulling off any underlying paint, but that does depend upon the old paint having been properly applied.
There is not much I can say about masking tape. It goes on well and rips easily. It seems to work fine. One time it did rip where I didn't want it to but maybe that was a fluke.
