A:  I am using this in a hydroponic setup so your application is different but I would say that it does not get soggy and holds the plants in place well. My only question is whether the plant would get the nutrition it needs. I would think it would work as well as pumice stone.

I recently built a small aquaponics set up and needed grow media to get it going. This wasn't the cheapest I found but the free shipping made up the difference. I'm currently growing a mesclun blend and sowed directly in the clay pebbles. So far it's working great - nothing to dislike about it. I would definitely recommend.

            Not for Hydroponics!
If you're looking for a grow media for a flood and drain hydroponics/aquaponics system keep looking. 99.9% of these chinese pellets float. I bought three 50L bags and there were only about a dozen pellets that sank. I tried power washing them, soaking them for a week, vinegar/peroxide baths you name it. Make sure you keep your receipts as you'll be returning because of frustration.

            great product for gardening
Grow rock provides the best drainage for growing chili peppers. My 4x7ft container pepper garden already has over a bushel of growing peppers. Home Depot has the best gardening supplies in town.

            As Expected
This stuff was what it should be & for a reasonable price. I used 200 Lbs which filled one Aquaponics bed. I have two others to do and will use this again. Compared to other product prices this was the best I could find for the amount ordered & it was delivered quickly by UPS & no shipping charge. It does need to be rinsed before using but that was easy after developing a decent method.

            Great product! Great deal!
I use this product to add to my potting soil and to root some of my Hoya cuttings. The some of my Hoya cuttings rooted less then 2 weeks. I use this product for semi hydro planting on my orchids too. Great product! Great deal!

Fast delivery, clean and ready to use
Best price and as described. This is the first time I've used this product and it appears to be better than using rock wool or coco fiber.
