Questions & Answers

How do you get the label off?

Water doesn't work and alcohol messes up the laquer finish, as does a razor blade. I've tried dish soap, shampoo, and a couple of cleaners. It's ridiculous - and you've already a comment in a review about that. It's not usable on one side and the messed up laquer from trying might make this a lost cause.
Asked by: PeOwed
Take a heat gun (or any other heat source) to it to weaken the sticky stuff on the label and then try peeling it off

It's truly a great knife for the price, BUT, having just spent 2 frustrating hours trying to get the labels off of the blade, I'll never buy another Wal-Board Tool if it has a label on the business end! I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to use the adhesive they did.. I guess that's just it.. they weren't thinking! I first tried acetone but all that did was smear it all over the knife, tried alcohol, but that wouldn't cut it, even tried WD-40.. I finally had to buy a can of [glue remover] just so I can actually use the tool for what it's designed for. If they keep using the same adhesive, I suggest they include a can of it with every purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful Hint Just a helpful general tip for removing labels off metal in the future....use a lighter to warm the glue then peel, generally I warm the bottom edge then work my way up...after removing a few labels you'll have the technique down and no more problems...Have a good one!
