you didn't say what the flooring in the bedroom was that you are replacing, if it is carpet and you are removing the carpet and padding and installing 1/4 inch thick vinyl planks this molding will probably work to transition between the two floors. if the two floors are level with each other after installing the vinyl you would need a T molding instead of the reducer molding. Pergo makes a 5 in 1 multi functional molding in vintage pewter oak color that can be used for 5 different transition needs that might be a better choice for your needs, it works for almost any type of transition. no matter which molding you decide to use there is a molding available that will work for you.

how is the metal bracket installed? adhesive or nail?

screwed into wood or concrete. Nails might work, but I believe small screws and plastic "mollies" are included in the package.

What size are the screws that come with it?

This is from memory, so don't hold me to it. The "mollies" are small/weak with screws (with minimal thread) about 3/8" in length. I purchased a separate screw and mollie package (with about 24 mollies and screws) that were about the same size in length, but more substantial quality. I cut the metal insert to approx. size, marked some of the holes on the concrete with a marker, and drilled all the needed marked holes prior to using any screws (the holes in the metal strip were actually slightly smaller than the concrete bit I used to drill the holes). You don't need to use all the holes - just about 2 holes (or less) per foot of molding.

Yes, this transition strip is for floors with different heights. There is another one for floors of the same height. These are both shown with the matching flooring planks if you scroll down the product page under the heading "Frequently Bought Together".

Perfect match for Traffic Master Winding Brook flooring
This transition was a prefect match for the Traffic Master Winding Brook flooring we installed. One concern I had was how thin the Traffic Master flooring is compared to some of the more premium flooring such as Life Proof. This transition covered perfectly. One issue I had was the track did not snap at the pre-scored lines so I had to get out a hacksaw to cut a second piece of track to help cover the 85 in opening I was trying to cover. For having to use 2 pieces to cover that gap it looks almost seamless. As you can see the dog approves. I only wish I could have gotten this in a 92 inch length so I could have only used 1 piece.

Looks good, works well.
Needed a transition from thick carpet to a thin vinyl plank so I decided to go with this. It queue great for my application. I did have to add an extra 1/8" spacer board underneath the metal snap track to get the correct height for my application. The only issue I find is that the snap track doesn't just break apart like they make it seem. I had to cut at the joint to get it clean without being bent. Overall great product and works well.

Color: I used Sterling Oak / Gray Birch moldings with the MSI Woodland Dove LVP. This was going from the gray LVP to a brownish carpet with hints of gray/lighter brown. The color or the molding, which I would say is more brown/taupe and slightly gray, matched well as a combo of the two floors. Install: fairly easy to install on wood subfloor. Screw track down and snap in the molding. However, it is VERY tight to snap in. I had to open up the track a bit with pliers first. The main issue I ran into is installing on concrete slab. You can’t just screw the track down with regular screws and a driver. You can try construction adhesive instead. Or this video has a brilliant method: https://youtu.be/l0x3F94DvLE Quality: Seems very durable. I bent it pretty far taking it back out of the track after snapping it in already and it was flexible enough to not break. Cuts clean also. hacksaw. I mostly used table saw. Overall: satisfied with this product, but it could use instructions for install on concrete slab.

Installed in my kitchen, bathroom and stairs leading to the basement. I like the light color, oak pattern and the texture keeps you from slipping on a wet floor. It transformed all those areas.
