A: They work great for pantry shelving and do not need middle support up to about 40", anything over 40 inches long should have some sort of center support installed.

Q:With proper staining, could these 1x12's be used for exterior board-and-batten siding replacement pieces on a tall house in a very dry climate? I am hoping that kiln-dried lumber will reduce the chance of the terrible warping we saw in previous replacement boards that had not received any treatment (or will at least last for longer before that happens). Thank you.

A: I would prefer to use exterior siding on a house. These whitewood boards will warp and cup when left long and wide even with proper stain/painting.

A: Yes - ensure you use the appropriate stain/sealants for exterior use, which should hold up for what you need.

A: I personally would not use spruce for exterior siding or trim as it won't last as long as cedar or cypress boards.
by|Feb 26, 2020
A: The quality of the boards we bought were TERRIBLE, at best. They were warped and crowned, but we picked the best they had on the rack.

Answer This Question
A: It would depend how long the teeter totter would be, leverage on the fulcrum you know.

A: I would not use anything Less than a 2"×8" board for this purpose as injury could result from a thinner board.

A: This would work fine for a closet. To cover the area you reference - you need 3 PC's 1x12x10ft.
by|May 5, 2023
A: yes I used it for a shelf in a child's closet. I needed a piece 109 x 12 I was hoping to get it in melamine but you did not carry melamine that long.
This worked just fine and was priced right.

A: Yes. The whitewood lumber is not treated. If it is used in an interior closet it will shrink slightly when it dries out.
