A:  it all depends. if its exterior or interior. if its indoors there should be no issue to go directly over existing wall covering. if its outdoors, its recomended to have some sort of breathing room where air can flow under the siding. you may need to install strips over existing siding in order to ensure proper ventialtion. please check your local building codes, as the requirements differs from region to region.

Q:Going to use this for my walls and ceiling in a cabin in a high humidity area (southern forest). No air conditioning or heat. Will they stand up to it ? And will they need to be treated and with what.
            by|Apr 18, 2023
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  wood will expand and contract with the moisture in the air. There should be no issues doing your cabin ceilings with Pine. The only recomendation is to place the boards in the cabin 2 weeks before the installation , that way, they will acclimatize to the envorinment and that will prevent shrinking and cracking.
